Hey, I just found this host called dreamhost, and it has 20 gb of space, and 1 tb of bandwidth. They have unlimited websites on one of their current offers, and its only 9.95 on month!

PS - If you sign up, can you refer me? Put in B1N2T3 at the promocode/referal box.

Wow, this host seems almost too good to be true. Unlimited domain hosting?

Looks like yhey've been around since '97, which gives them a bit more "cred".

They've been around that long, and they still don't have a descent site theme inside the cp.

Yah that's my problem--- I just signed up (again) with Lunarpages--- but I'm about 5 days short of 30 days. They give a 30 day full money back guarantee. I think I'll switch over to Dreamhost, as I have around 10 domain names that I hate paying extra for.

I also appreciate that Dreamhost has ImageMagick preinstalled, which was another beef I had with other hosters.

BNT--- Looks like you're going to get $97 for my referral. Cheers

EDIT:

I don't care how their site looks. As long as it does the job. And they have a 97-day money back guarantee. If I sign up for two years then I get 20% off. Plus they up your hosting space by 160MB per week, and your bandwidth by 2GB a week. That is crazy cool.

I signed-up for Dreamhosts. Pre-paid for 1 year, and I stuck in B1N2T3 for my promo code and it gave me another $9 discount So you should get some money off that one too.

Am just going to use the site for an Atari ST rom dumping ground So the bandwidth should come in uber-handy.

Cheers,

Rich

DreamHost is no illusion. I've been with them for 3 years now. Absolutely love them. They didn't always have unlimited bandwith and mega diskspace. I signed up with them for only 250MB of disk space. But every so often, they increased the limits. It got ridiculous! I've been extremely happy with their service, available uptime, and generous allotments. Just my $.02.

'Just one game,' they said, and started to play. That was yesterday.

So where's my domain. : /

You seem to have tried real hard to register it for over 2 weeks - seeing as I just registered it myself now.

Woah, really fast response there...

I already told you the answer to that over MSN im, that it costsy me yearly to register the domains, unless I have your hosts dns, etc... I'll chat with you about this on msn later.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but for those of you who are still thinking about switching to Dreamhost, there's even more great news:

They finally got rid of the CPU minute restrictions!

Basically I am on the 1000GB bandwidth (yes, that's 1TB) plan, which grows by 8GB every *week*. I haven't come close to this.

Unlimited domains--- that is great for me as I have more domains than fingers.

21760MB of space--- that's tremendous (and it grows 160MB every week too). Basically this cost me about $90 a year-- not bad eh?

Anyways, I'm just happy that they removed the CPU restrictions

Ok enough of the Dreamhost pimping, we get it. The next person to post a Dreamhost affiliate link gets noob slapped for a week.

For the record, I've been with them since March, and have now experienced first-hand their very variable service levels. I would never trust a full commercial site there in my life, but for the playground I wanted, it worked out perfectly. For a pet project site, it'd be fine too, but the server I'm on is often very slow, with poor database access speeds, and I often cannot get into the control panel. So all in all, I wouldn't use them again, but to mess around with I'm having fun.
