I wonder how much of it is worked out using maths and physics and how much is just "it works from height a with a bit of c. So it should work from height b with lots of c."

Somebody wanted to do it about 10 years ago without even the wing suit, but was stopped. He said he could levitate down to Earth.

I can levitate! I just sit in the yoga position and push off the ground! (Some CNN report on hoaxs and persuadion and stuff like that)
