But it shows up in the device manager, AND in the BIOS config. But in my computer... all I have is C, D (my dvd-r/rw) and my scaner.
I have the jumper pins set correctly, yet still nothing!! >_x

Any ideas?

Is the drive formatted?

If you have XP or 2000:

Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management

Once there look through the left pane until you find Disk Management. If your drive is connected properly it will be listed there, if you see that the drive doesn't have a file system, then format it by right clicking on the drive and clicking on format.

ahh, i had this problem... i cant remember what i did, ill check when i get home, looking at it might help me remember... ill post back.

If it's SATA then you need drivers for your controller.

Thanks tory, I realy feal like an idiott now. I usualy only use formatting directly from the WinXP disk, for a HDD wipe, lol.
