The Pink Panther is causing a debate as to whether it should have been remade, but what Films or programmes would actually be better if they were remade?

I would like to see........

Randal and Hopkirk remade as a movie, but not with Reeves and Mortimer.

Red Dwarf.... What has happened to that movie?

V.... Remeber 'V' it was a classic UFO series.

Six Million Dollar Man.... Has great potential.

The Hulk.... Should be made properly.

The Birds.... Could do with CG.

Ok your turn........

The original Transformers or Transformers BEAST Wars, after watching it some morning on g4 for nostalgia I get happy inside. Not some of this new crap I've heard about like ARMADA and CYBERTRON from Studio Gonzo but the original remade with a higher quality. Could you imagine BEATWARS with todays CGI standards? *drools*

Games Master - Old videogames programme from a few years ago. Used to watch it with my Dad. Would be great to see it again, just for the memories.*

*And the see Patrick Moore's floating head (I'm guessing only those that saw it will understand that)

EDIT:: Thinking about it. I haven't seen tomorrow's world for a while. Either it's stopped (in which case, bring it back) or it's just not on terrestrial anymore.

I'd love to see a remake of The Warriors, damn quality movie that - one of the rare occasions that a movie has ended up being better than how I remember it.

I wouldn't mind seeing a CG TrapDoor series, but that'll never happen.

I'd like to see more Red Dwarf, not fussed about a movie, but having a new series with a decent budget would be great, you'd think american DVD sales would pay for something now and then. V was great, but they'd kill it if they brought it back - all it's charm was in the rubber human skin, OTT 80's makeup, and the family-pet-eaten neck effects.

Porridge should come back - they should film a series of Ideal where Moz is in prison, there should always be at least 1 prison comedy running at all times.

I have always been sci-fi mad, the trouble with British Sci-Fi is they always do it on a budget of £50 a week and it realy shows, something like UFO would be great as a movie (as long as Hollywood managed to find a real scriptwriter and had me riding along to keep an eye on em), or maybe Blakes7 or even The Tommorow people, any of those could be put onto the big screen, but if they did they realy want to have some enthusiast riding shotgun, the reason most Sci-Fi fails to make it bigtime imo is purely that the directors/producers etc just don`t understand what its about, you need a geek to keep em on the straight and narrow.

Indeed - The Reeves & Mortimer one was awful.

Quote: "Red Dwarf.... What has happened to that movie?"

Still haven't found the money for it...

I would like to see films of :

M.A.S.K - With CGI it would be very good.

Quantum Leap - There is supposed to be a new version, but as of yet, nothing has been heard about it.

NONE

Where were all these Firefly fans when the show first aired? It got canned after 3/4ths of a season because no one was watching it. Then again, John Doe was Faux... err... Fox's biggest show that season, and they canned that. They just don't know what their doing at that network. As I recall, Firefly, John Doe, and Fastlane all came out at the same time, and all three were canned after a season (although Fastlane might have survived to see a second season). Faux had to make way for all their reality BS programming After they canned John Doe, one of the most unique shows I've ever seen, I pretty much stopped watching network television. If it doesn't come out on HBO, it isn't worth watching, imo

If they made the Simpsons into a movie, I might fling myself from a tall manmade object. It's funny the way it is and the format wouldn't work with an hour and a half of stuff to show. Neo is dead so why make another Matrix? I'm happy with the trilogy. And isn't there already a Doctor Who movie? Last but not least, Godzilla shouldn't be made by anyone who isn't going to release it in the U.S. with subtitles.

No offense guys, but Hollywood needs to STOP remaking crap. It's tasteless and talentless. If they remake a true classic, like Citizen Kane (which they already did ), Network, North By Northwest, or something of that caliber, I might just lose it and go on a killing spree. Not just to exterminate the vile talentless skum-sucking pig blowers in Hollywood who think they have what it takes to remake the movies, but also the feeder-pellet people who goes to see the movie.

Sorry if that came across as harsh lol

LOL

The problem isn't in remaking movies, it's the crud that Hollywood passes as movies these days.

Hostel, FFS, it's a 2 hour long Rammstein video.

Final Destination 3, When they gonna get there?

Date Movie. (no comment needed)

King Kong, people have died on consumption waiting on the special effects to start.

It's all reworked tired old crud, so they might as well save money on storywriters and just remake stuff. It's not always a bad move, 'The Fly' remake was great, and Dawn of the Dead remake was actually far better than Land of the Dead with it's new stupid storyline full of characters that nobody cares about. Go zombies, die human scum!.

At times of great originality droughts, we have to look back at older movies and Hollywood thinks that we want to see that, but new like, and with shiny computer generated cheese, because we're all dumb and if we don't like something we should just give it less thought.

Addendum: I'd have them remake Lost season 2, only I'd make them stick to 1 episode per week! - they keep having 2-week breaks and it's destroying my life. They're like drug pushers, at first there's lots of Lost, more Lost than you'd ever need, then when your hooked they start rationing your dosage to keep you under control.

I should have put New Doctor Who movie, but...
My post is about remaking things, or making a series into a film... so there should already be at least 1 of everything.

Trapdoor, as in the claymation with the blue blob guy... Bert, or whatever his name was (can't quite remember it)

If so, I believe I have a video of that stashed somewhere. Will have to get that out and watch it sometime And yeah, it does deserve a CG remake.

Fine since it appears I'm the only Transformers fanboy ( :/ ) I will have to submit another idea I have for a remake. The old Legend of Zelda t.v series. Could you imagine having that with the same incredibly lame plot just with like CGI or something? XD

We could do with another Dr Who film really, especially with 7 Doctors - the chances of that happening though are slimmer than Ian getting some hair.

Here-here! or is it hear-hear? Anyway, that's EXACTLY what I'm so stark-raving-mad about!

Quote: "I will have to submit another idea I have for a remake. The old Legend of Zelda t.v series."

Yeah, let's get the Mario show back on the air, too, the one with that professional wrestler guy from the 80's with all the rubber bands.

But not really.

I'm serious people, after I'm rich and famous I'm planning on making a trilogy out of some classic film, but one that wasn't a trilogy, and the sequel will be the silliest thing ever, and the THIRD movie will be two hours of watching poo drift around in a toilet with no audio track. Sad thing is, that'd make $80 million and probably win an Oscar or two. Tony the Turd would win best actor and Nick the Nugget would get best supporting, for sure. Sure enough the hamsters would stand in line for an hour to pay $15 to sit through it. Hamsters, people. Hollywood treats us like hamsters, and the worst part is, a lot of us just loooove running on that wheel.

Thunderbirds should be remade, the last effort was diabolical.

I would really like to see a Dark Star Trek as well. Star Trek done as a horror movie. The Borg are allowed to rip off your head or something. I mean it has to be an actual Star Trek movie, but for 15's and over, and really scary.
