I have a finished game, and, I know this may sound really stupid, i don't know what to do with it.

Ideally i would like to have it as a file I could save onto a CD that could be played on a computer with Direct X but without DB.

Yes I am a complete beginner.

just make sure you included all the media then take the .exe file and put it somewhere other than the project folder and check it runs as intended, if it does then save it to a cd and use it in the other computer, just make sure the user has a suitable version of directx installed, if it doesn`t then you should get an error saying what media the program failed to find, that means you need to include it into the exe, iirc for DB classic you just need to make sure your media is inside the project folder when you compile, anything in the project folder gets included.

I don`t care what you say, theres no way the commander of a Kamakasi Squadron got promoted up through the ranks.

You also need an autorun.inf.

At least farting ferrets are better than stinky stoats.

Do what Me! said and compile the whole project into one convienent .exe file. Then, you could download a free icon program, or "Resource Editor", which will change the icon of the .exe file to whatever you choose.

You could then burn it onto a CD, yes, I do that. But, to allow more people to play it, I'd create a web site and put the game on it for download to the public. Then, go to the forums "Program Announcements" and post about the game you made, including screen shots.

Don't know how to do screen shots? Just click the key "Print Scrn" on the keyboard when you have a screen shot that would be cool on the screen. Some computer need a "Shift+PrintScrn" combo

Next, go to a program like "Paint" and click "Paste" or Ctrl+V. Then save the picture in a .jpg or format (easy for web pages). Then, create a web site (a good free host is Madman Hosting at http://www.madmanhosting.tk)

Well, there you go, there's the basics to it. Just make sure to tell lots of people about the game. Although, be careful not to double post (put more than one post on the same subject) on these forums.

Well, good luck

sorry for "double posting", I didn't think the first post worked.

I don't do this "forum" thing often.
