ive been playing about with ways to make game trailers and cutscenes with little or no 3d knowledge or animation knowledge at all

the best way i have found is the game called the movies

after 10 minutes of playing with the game i managed to create this

download is 3mg sorry the resolution is a bit off but i wanted to keep the size down

if anybody has any experience with this program or new props or whatever that would be ideal for fpscreator post here

or just post your movies in game trailer
good way to showcase your games i think
hope you enjoy

From the flms i've seen from "the movies", you don't get alot of freedom. Many times i've seen the same shot with a different enviroment and a different character (neither of which look real). The animations and expression are sometimes very exaggerated and cartoony, and you can only shoot interior scenes (scenes indoors) with the occassional forest, dessert or city to film some long-shots in.

What if you wanted to a massive battle? you couldn't
An alien world from space? You couldn't
A character acting realistic? You couldn't

Thats why i stick with making all frm scratch in 3D, looks better, more control and an chance to be more creative.

no chris i don't think you can import FPSC models into the movies.

just to let all you guys know the movies the game has full unofficial mod tool support

a full machima community full costume editor and set editor

cheesy game but outstanding movie making capabilities fits in nicely for the noob with no advanced 3d modelling knowledge the engine runs on a pak file system so if you have experience with qeradient or wolfenstien or games along these lines

then yes you can add fpsc content all it takes is a bit of imagination

fun little movie making tools

yes you can have massive battles you just hire more extras for your movie cannon fodder

yes there are sets already in the game for a full alien world

and yes you can make character acting realistic as there is a full voice over option with lipsynching

this is by no means a professional animation tool but its a nice little noob tool and a nice but of fun and exports nicely in to fpscreator

so dont get too technical but do have some fun

I thought about The Movies - The Game just the other day.

I may get it just to try to win the Chrysler.

It does look like lots of fun for the money and will come in handy for cut scenes no doubt.
A friend had recommmended this to me when it was first released, but I didn't consider it.
Now that I examine it closer, I think she may have been right after all.

Nice one Crow34

Hey guys... Read through the post and checked out the links.... This movie creator your talking about what does this do allow you to load your models into this program and do cut scenes?

This seems way to much work especially for someone like me who play's games all the time...

Suggestion why not create your game and when you get a final build then play the game and run fraps, fraps.com if your looking for it this allows you to record your game while your playing... Just one thing fraps does not compress its video... this is something you need to consider when capturing a live game...

Now once you got all your clips your going to want to edit it down ofcourse, windows xp comes with a moviemaker "not one of my favorites but it works" my prefered editor is adobe premiere anyways once you edit your videos down add sound etc I believe you will come out being more satisified with your end results.

Hopefully this helps....

PS Crow bro wish I had the finances to get you a copy of FPSC my funds are tights but maybe you ought to put up a donation website and hit the community up especially since your contrubiting to this community.
And if you need the hosting hit me up thats an area I can help you in.

Have you downloaded your CLiPs today.

Stupid thing keeps crashing on me.
I can't get the full version to work.
I couldn't download the demo (dialup) so I bought the CDs.
After it shows the Ads then the Loading screen, then it closes.
WTF!

And why does it require me to use 800x600 resolution? (that sucks)

My excitment has turned to disappointment.

The movies is a fun game, but I think the idea of using
Fraps to record what you animate etc in your game would
give you much more options.

I've got The Movie Premiere Edition, but now I think I
would have rather purchased DBPro or FPSC.

Nice idea though.

my suggestion is you have bought a damaged copy

id take it back and exchange it for the dvd version

as you can use any resoultion you want in the game

and it should not crash like that
