hey all. i created a new HUD.x file for colt45, a glock17. its not my model, i downloaded the .3ds from a free site and opened it in cinema4d. I then edited the position, and exported the file (with animations) as an .x file using some plugin i got for it.

viewing the file in deep exploration, all is good, the texture is clear, and high resolution. the gun looks nice!

however...when i load the entity into my game, the gun loads fine, but the texture looks very very poor. i mean REAL poor. is there a reason for this? the tgas are fine, nice and crisp. and the .x file is fine.....any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cinema4d wrecks the texture cordinates or something like that-
you should get milkshape (or at least the demo) and export it with that- then the textures should go right- there is a tut for getting them in FPSC by still using Cinema4d here on the forum- search and you will find

There are a lot of C4D users over in the 3 Dimensional Chat forum; they may be able to help.

ok i got it sorted now. im not sure what i did, i was messing about with the export settings and something went right. thanks anyway. i have a follow up questio:

do you guys know how to get the smoke effects and the "glow" when my gun fires working? the colt45 seems to do it, but my own model doesnt and im not sure how to add it. editing the gunspec doesnt seem to do anything (smoke is set to 1). thanks in advance!
