i wouldent normally advise this bug get firefox as the other day i got really annyoed with session saver not saving my tabs for a 4th time so i fired up avant browser which uses ie and i ge 2 nice viruses after going to gamedev.net :/, then i swiftly uninstalled it and got back on ff.

This behaviour of activex controls is from a recent windows update (kb 912945) http://support.microsoft.com/kb/912945

It now forces us to manually start activex controls, like flash movies. There is currently a bad bug when you scroll pages up and down with flash movies on, and the movie does not redraw properly. MS are working on a fix apparantly.

I don't know if you can disable this behaviour, other than uninstalling that particular update.
