We've all had a blast watching the contest, it's officially over, and we have 24 games and most are pretty fun! Check them out here:

I will be announcing again when the judges come up with a score, we'll have a special page showcasing the games, along with excellent coverage for our wonderful sponsors. It will have a cool video, and lots of screenshots, and reviews for each game. Once it's ready, I will post a major announcement linking to the official contest website will cover the globe!

A special site will be created to showcase all the games, it will be loaded with reviews, screenshots, and a video. It will also heavily display our sponsors for this contest!

Dragon SHMUP Competition will be announced shortly after, if you would like to sponsor please PM me and we'll talk!! The Dragon SHMUP competition only requires people build a shmup of any type that has the main character a being a dragon that spits fireballs. More details about this competition will be announced when we reach this point!

My favorite was Velocity the Bee because of the graphics and the great gameplay. The boss was dumb thoughI(sorry ). It didn't stay long enough to be able to get destroyed...

my top 5 is:
1st: Prototype (this game could be worth money, a quality game basically)
2nd: Velocity the Bee (really great gameplay)
3rd: Cathode Raygun (this game is probably the game i play the most, it have such great gameplay, and the effects are amazing.)
4th: Krait (the graphics are simply amazing! and i love how the ship moves)
5th: Laser Assault 3 (its just an awesome game, but i never made it to the boss )

Velocity the Bee
Prototype
Krait
Funky Space
Sub Surface (I'm kind of dissapointed with it. It looked like a clear winner from the screens, but the game was too slow and long :-()

I really like Velocity the Bee, I think either that or Prototype has it scooped - Good luck to all the entrants though, this was a damn fun competition.

I am pleased to announce that the Horizontal Shooter with BOSS Competition results are in!! A carefully designed competition site has been created which features all the games with screenshots, reviews, and downloads, as every game has been rated, reviewed, and organized from greatest to worst! The competition was 3 months long, there are a lot of great games, but only one is the best!

If you go to http://www.shmup-dev.com/hcontest you’ll be able to view every game, along with reviews from three different judges which ultimately lead to a score. There are lots of great game themes from fantasy, to space, to cartoon, and more!!
