As some of you already know, I created Model Pack 2 which is now available. I see there are already some questions popping up, so I'm starting this FAQ thread.

I realized early on that I couldn't possibly please everyone. There are just too many game genres to fit into a single pack of 50-60 models (actually there are about 70). But I had one goal in mind: To create pack of models that had the most VISUAL IMPACT on your games. I settled on a "modern-day" theme, so the items would fit together in a congruent way, rather than a random collection of items.

So with these models, you can really construct entire scenes, such as a public restroom area, lobby, or construction area. The bloody tiled room works especially well with the zombie scientist. And I absolutely love the abandoned tenement room also, its really creepy when combined with some good lighting, and is reminiscint of Half-Life 2.

There are two characters, which is fewer than included in model pack 1, but I think it more than makes up for it in the number of entities, considering that many of them are animated or have built-in interactivity. (Quick fact: the scientist is modelled after my brother!)

As you can probably tell, I'm very proud of these models. I tried hard not have any "filler" models. Each one was designed to add visual interest and life to your games. I love the ceiling fan and searchlight also(turn on shader effects for the searchlight!)
And be sure to spend some time getting your lighting right, it can really make or break a scene. And for pete's sake don't turn lightmaps off completely!

I could go on and on, like I said I'm proud of my work, but I'll shut up for now. Hopefully this gives some insight on why the pack includes what it does, and I hope you find them useful.

Good job on the models! Can't say I'll buy it (cause I only use custom stuff) but bravo, keep up the good work.

Great job on the models!

my question is simple...whats the license on the models?

Thank you!

As far as the license, I don't care how you use these, you can use these in any commercial or non-commercial project, including non-FPSC stuff. Obviously you cannot sell these on their own or as part of any "pack". Hope that answers the licensing question.

Excellent work, looks very useful indeed. I've bought my copy, I'm just waiting for the download.

BTW, does the scientist/doctor actually come with a 'scratches chin thoughtfully' animation (as seen in the PDF brochure), or did you just rig that pose for fun?

Cheers

That is just a "promotional" pose. He contains the standard animations that all FPSC characters have for maximum versatility and compatibility.

Great work bond1 hyrumark on the models, keep up the great work and I have a question if you don't mind, do you know if TGC or you will be releasing the bip animation file for the scientist character I'm assuming its different than the first FPSC character bip release, it would be nice to rig other characters with this animation also'

Thanks

Fantastic work on the textures.
Congrats on your teaming up with TGC.

Any chance of getting that Zombie Animation in the form of a Skeleton in a MilkShape file?

Excellent model pack, love the little details like the door knobs actually turn when doors open, haven't had a chance to go through everything but, the ones I have looked at are top notch. Others that are trying to sell packs need to check out the quality and quantity of this pack.

Great work.
Thanks

Great Work Again, I noticed there is only one thing missing if you what to make a real restroom scene in your game, it pretty trivial but were missing a empty toilet paper holder like in a real bathroom stall (lol), just like a real public restroom, you know you really have to go but when you get into the stall you realize theres no toilet paper, I just thought that would be funny to see in your games

I'm making A TP holder right now for this pack, here's a picture so far I still have to texture it, it only has a small piece of TP left on the roll just like in real life, like at your local gas station's public restroom, etc

I hope you don't mind bond1 hyrumark

Oh, yeah, that's good but I got you beat: Trying to explain to my wife why I had to squat over someone's nasty dump in a public restroom just to take a picture of it!

Hence the "dirty" toilet for all to enjoy

i'm gonna get my copy soon..

can I edit the "textures" for them
like make an official "coca-cola" or "pepsi" vending machine..
(only for my own project)"
(AN IDEA: I was playing Time Splitters 3, the other day,
can you make a script for the vending machine..
so when you press "enter" at it,
it spits out a can from the bottom, so you click 5 times, and it spits out 5 cans, and you have cans rolling accross the room..

and I wanna make that toliet model evan WORSE!! with my photoshop skills,
Here is a sample, from a once clean urinal..

These are some cool little additions you're doing there, chupa chabra, and is why I think this community is really turning into a great place! I've always had this wierd fascination with public restrooms, they're inherently creepy and have always given me an uneasy feeling...don't know exactly why. But I've always thought it would make a great FPS scene, and adds a cool little touch of realism to just about any type of game.

Thanks bond1 hyrumark, I've been stranded at home this weekend the transmission died in my work van, Its in the shop getting fixed so I've been kill'in time making some models for every one. and yes I have another one, Sometimes I'd rather use paper towels to dry my hand here's the towel-o-Matic, for when you just don't have the time to wait for the dryer to do the job! complete with dirty finger prints on the front of it!
