aahhh I feel so accomplished, as I am typing this messae from Linux, Fedora Core 4. i finally got it installed, working and installed internet drivers. The ethernet card works but Im still working with my wireless one. Sometimes this OS can be super complicated but when its all said and done its way faster and I am loving every minute of it.

Wireless cards can be really difficult to get working with Linux, so be warned.

Suse 10 is pretty good, detected everything first time, even got my seriously non standard video card working, wireless is a problem for the same reason dial up winmodems are, a lot of what of they do is in the drivers, the drivers are proprietry, the drivers have to be reverse engineered, the serious Linux users just buy cards that are supported.

I have actualy found that if you build a PC with Linux compatability in mind then it will work "right out of the box" and keep running for years with no problems, the most important thing to remember is not to upgrade just cos theres an upgrade available, just upgrade anything that has security issues, don`t recompile the kernel unless you want to spend time reconfiguring, basicaly, if it aint broke, don`t mend it, thats the way to have a trouble free Linux life, it`s a different approach to Windows, most patches are just tweaks or enhancements, you don`t need em if you don`t have problems.

I don`t care what you say, theres no way the commander of a Kamakasi Squadron got promoted up through the ranks.
