Hi,

I currently am using a large flat sprite as a CockPit where the window areas are black and transparent so you can see through them. Clear the game woudl run faster I guess if this was a plain..
How do I make the black areas of the texture transparent on the plain and would it be able to place text on the plain ?

Thx
Me!

set the transparency on, in pro

set object transparency obj,1

in classic

set object obj,0,1,0,0,1,1,1

(iirc), to set text onto the plain either use the text commands just before the sync or use sprites with messages or numbers pre defined on them.

I don`t care what you say, theres no way the commander of a Kamakasi Squadron got promoted up through the ranks.

just figured it.. thx... having problems position in the z-axis, i.e want to position the plain :-

Position Object 0,0,0 but it won't sit at 0 in the z-axis, is there a way to disable the z-axis for this object so other objects ignore it and I can place at 0 in z-axis ?

It is being positioned in the z axis it's just rotated so you cant see it, after creating the plain use XROTATE OBJECT ObjNum, -90 to make the plain face the camera.
