OK now heres a sort of tutorial:

Get the water segment from FPS-Files.

then place a simple floor segment.on the same layer place a water entity but adjust the hight with Page Up/Page Down buttons,if you think its high enough then replace the floor segment by an invisible floor segment and go one layer down, then find a nice texture for the river ground and place that as a floor. At the end place some edges around it and test game!

if the height of the water is too High/Low adjust it until you think its good.

Hope this helps you all out with the "Swim in the water" problem

My test suceeded,

i wanted to make a screeny but first i have to figure out how to get the transperancy working again.

Update in the tutorial:

If you want shallow water dont got a layer down and dont place an invisible floor just make the floor sand then and there ya go!

I'm skeptical how successful that'll be. If it does work, it'd be sweet if someone made an animated water entity of the water surface flowing. I'll be waiting for the screenshot....

The water entity that silver talks about is already animated.

It works. If you use a program like signs 2,FPS Magic 2 or whatever you want to use you can take a pic of water and make a floor segment out of it for the splashy sound.

There is one anoying thing in this tutorial,if the water entity's arent with the transperant below it will look weird. Also placing all thoseentity's on large scale inmediantly isnt good either, test it on a small place and then keep the height and get it to large scale.

after that place the blue water.

And then your done.

The color of the Floor :

Red:0
Blue:0
Green:0

Then with signs you can make it a segment.

i noticed that when you do the swimming if you crouch down you can see through the water and the bottom o f the map so what i did is make the layer for standing and then make another layer just below it so if you crouch you still see water not invisable floor and the entire map.
