I sure hope this is a scripting question.

Okay building a multiplayer map... Yes in test mode 2 player... Getting ready to test live soon and I was wondering when you go 8 players can we set this as teams like 4 v 4 or is this a total deathmatch style game.

Also another 2 variations im trying to accomplish is a game type called capture the flag where you run to the other side of the map grab the flag and return it to your base without letting the other team get your flag... I see nothing in the forums so far as to how I can set this up...

And now the last game variant we call search and destroy where there are 2 objects on each side of the map and one team sets explosives next to this item while the other team tries to prevent it... all you cod and battlefield players will know what im talking about here... if we can not have teams these two game variants are pointless to answer..

What about a scoring system where it shows your kills and deaths and your ranked accordingly

I'm not a multiplayer map builder, but I am about 99% sure FPSC isn't set up to have team play. Unless you can make it yourself. Disappointing, isn't it.

You mean counterstrike...


capture the flag is just getting a key, and bringing it to a zone.

If you build your game through the "myarena.fpg" file, Then you get a nice hud up top that shows how many frags you got.

If you type the letter t in a multiplayer game, you can post a message for all other players to see.

Watch out, this bunny bites...

Excellent I never thought about the key what a great idea but wait what about a scoring system for that?

and the SnD "Search and Destroy" sure CS has it but so does COD either way the concept is the same and yes its a game variant I would like to accomplish if possible...

But a script would be needed for that... and as i know, scripting doesnt work in MP.

Well, unfortionatly FPSC wasnt designed for making team multiplayer games..

There are other 'apps' for making that sort of thing..sorry.

lol... not exactally.

Yes Scripting is allowed. edit the FPE with ishealth=1.
What I said was something I thought up a long time ago. Problems include, the player still has the key after death, I assume that adding
:alive=0:destroy

might work, but then which team has the key?

This is the concept behind MP CTF, but it is far from perfect. Perhaps the person who scores the key becomes invincible?
