I am going through the early tutorials and am having the flashing screen issues mentioned in the other threads.

I have tried the following:
CLS 0
Turning Sync on and off and raising the Sync rates
Reinstalling DirectX

I was provided a special link for the "Free for Education" promotion and am unsure if I can upgrade my DBC.

How do I turn this flashing thing off?

Please help!

Try putting

Sync On: CLS 0

at the start of your program.
