Know anybody how I can make terrains for FPS Creator.
Can I make any elevations levels?

Can I use Terragen or Geographic 3D?

You can have terrains, I've made a complete pack:http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=74774&b=25

You can use any landscape application as long as you convert or export your terrain model to a .x file. The textures need to be .tga. Also you do need to write an fpe file for the terrain to work as an entity in FPSC. This fpe needs to point to the terrain texture and .x model file.

It is possible to use multiple textures on your terrain, for that you need to check the chat forum section. how to accomplish multi-textures is explained here:"http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=75280&b=21. It's easier to use one single texture for your terrain.

Large terrains do not work well in FPSC, you need to split them in several smaller parts.

Also note that FPSC wasn't created for huge outdoor scenes. You can use terrains/outdoor stuff, as long as you don't put lot's of dynamic entities (like enemies) in the open terrain.

or you could buy 3D World Studio and do it yourself

RF, that's what I told him... that he can do it himself, even without buying 3DWS. There are a number of good free tools available that can make excellent terrains, you don't need to invest in 3DWS at all.

I'm using TrueSpace 6.6 for all of my import/export, but that may be al little bit above your budget.

To use your own entity (terrain or other items) you need the model in .x (directX) format, a texture (can be bmp or tga file format), a .fpe file and small 64x64bmp file with the same name as the .fpe file. The .fpe files I do write myself, it needs to point to the model and the texture.

Probably the easiest to do is use E.C.S. http://www.seqoiagames.com/seqoiacorp/index.html to create your entities. It does most of the work for you as long as you've got a model and texture.

I don't use them myself, I do everything myself, but a lot of people use it and seem happy with it. I think the lite version can only use .x files, but the pro version does .x and .3ds also. Almost any 3D application can import/export a .3ds file.

If you need help with E.C.S. I'm sure someone can help you, many people do use I think.
