I'm sure you'd all know about it already... It is by the Wichowski(sp?) Bro's, so I figure it's common knowledge here, yeah?

Well, I didn't know it was by them, and thought it would be a crappy movie.

How wrong was I!?
That move rocks!

It has a great premise, looks at where the world could be in 20 years time, and shows all different views on Governmental Rule.
But, it sure isn't boreing; There's people getting stabbed left right and center, things blowing up, general weirdness, a dude in a freaky mask, etc, etc!

It comes highly recommended, and I suggest you go see it... NOW!

Cheers,
Jess

I fell asleep during the move. I woke up and the girl was in jail (sorta) getting her head shaved. I got the jist of it. good movie.

I saw Nightwatch (russian film) right after; started in the theater across the hall soon as we got out.

Yes, it was good - a more upbeat version of 1984...

Natallie Portman in a very short dress

Blowing up the Houses of Parliment was rather unnerving though...

I can see why Alan whatisname (the co-creater) was a bit miffed about the film - it doesn't exactly follow the comic book...

It's an awesome movie. I'm despise of these comic-book films (batman, spiderman etc) yet this one actually seemed to have a decent storyline and was a great watch

V was teh coolest.

Hell yeah!

It was rather coincidental that I had to read 1984 for an English assignment right before I went to see it.

Haven't seen the movie yet, but if its anything like 1984, then I'll love it. Probably gonna hit the theaters tomorrow then.

I saw it at an IMAX in New Zealand (Had a few hours to kill before getting the bus to the airport to come home). It was a fantastic film - although I'm concerned that the (Sort-of Spoiler: )
like that might cause stupid people to try to copy cat.

Good film tho!

My friends were deciding on a movie to watch after class last Friday and many of them ruled out VfV. Instead they went out to watch Ice Age 2, which I can understand since VfV doesn't exactly look like a movie we'd watch as a big group (since it lacks the "laugh trip" factor). We might see it after our finals are over.

I remember watching The Dark some time ago... felt like I only watched half of what I spent on the ticket. And before that, I watched Final Destination 3 with my friends for the hell of it. It had its painful moments, but we thought it was still lacking something.

Hills have Eyes... sounds creepy...

Homosexuality comes to mind.....
Interesting theme to stick in there, definitely distracted me for a bit.

Knives are cool when they leave motion trails

I didnt like it because it was strung out, it was more of a drama than an action film. And it was tring to be all racey political with the homosexuality and the protesting, but all in all it was just a film about nothing. And not the seinfeld sense of nothing, I am glad there were no pirates in it

I loved it. Far more upfront about the homosexuality/discrimination problem than most films even try to be, brilliantly acted, awesome action scenes. The comic - which I borrowed from the library after I watched the movie - was okay, but I enjoyed the movie a lot more; frankly the writing was also superior in the movie. Anyway, loved it.

I saw it last Saturday, it was so good. The film reminded me alot of Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451, which is about the best book I have ever read.

I found it leaned more towards 1984 myself...

That is a nasty film - nasty being the subject matter (which is really glossed over in V, and replaced with action), and not how the film itself is...

At least with V, you get a slightly positive ending...

V RULES! Lol I loved that movie they cut things out and moved bits around and changed a lot but its still surprisingly true to the comic (other then how they totally ruined the ending and made him act so silly in the beginning) the part about valery and then eveys liberation where the best parts

Quote: "I can see why Alan whatisname (the co-creater) was a bit miffed about the film - it doesn\'t exactly follow the comic book..."

Its Alan Moore and hes a literary genius lol anyways when u compare it to how they screwed up the other movies based on graphic novels hes written v for vendetta is actually really well done (from hell was the most pathetic thing iv ever watched… they changed so much it doesn’t even make sense anymore! If they didn’t even know who the Childs father was till after then why would “jack the ripper” be after them!? What would be the point of silencing someone if the only reason they know anything is because u started killing em off!!!!! Plus the best part about from hell was how Alan Moore showed everyone’s side equally but the movie just turned it into a standard murder mystery garbage)
