Hi all,

Issue 39 of the TGC newsletter is now out! It's quite a packed issue. Sporting a new design it includes features on Dark Physics (with screen shots!), Dark A.I., two great tutorials, loads of DBPro DLLs, Forum Chatter, PlayBasic news, a competition to win a PC (uk only), and quite a bit more besides.

http://www.thegamecreators.com/data/newsletter/newsletter_issue_39.html

Enjoy!

Cheers,

Rich

great newsletter!

not to be nitpicky but you might want to change the third link in the physics section...

the third " [ view full pic ]." links to the second picture... it should be
"http://www.thegamecreators.com/g/newsletter/issue39/physx_s3.jpg"

oh, and congratulations on your forum "vetern"cy scraggle

Wow, that one poll on the main page was just a trick, wasn't it? Make us think one thing is coming out, then give it all to us. It's insane...

World Class Physics - here soon
AI - here soon, apparently
Shaders and effects - A new DLL, coming soon
New IDE - Well, I'm suspicious, but John Y keeps talking about Synergy...

I forget what else there was. Tutorials? Those are ongoing. Batvink and Grant Clark always teach me something I should have already known. I always start out thinking "I can do that already", then they show me a better way.

Good stuff. Now can we get a plugin that allows us to use DBP to create a hot virtual woman? DarkBabez, perhaps? Or, DarkBooty might would work better. Hey, whatever works. With realistic physics, the possibilities are endless...

Keep it up TGC!

Nice issue...interesting info, great design!!!

A pity this PhysX plugins comes now...it seems the "3D cloth and particules" plugin I bought a couple of months ago won't be needed anymore. Dear TGC, do you plan a special saving for customers who bought the other plugins before buying PhysX?

@ Philip - Kudos on inspiring the DarkAI. Looks like its gonna turn out to be one heck of a tool to use.

anyone else think that the destroying the cloth thing is amazingly awsome? if you look closely the cloth has even torn at the top edges :o, i assume there like joints that break off at certain angles or something, and i hope to see lots of kickass tech demos when it comes out , maybe if you get some rings of fire with cars flying through them and watching the flames move as the cars brush past and things .

Bullfighting....I see bullfighting!!!

It all looks cool! I Like the full page spread website. My cruddy Tiscali webpage shrinks everything into a box.

So who has tested the new update?

Double post to make the little box blue!!!

I found the tutorial on using spinning boxes for paths very interesting. I haven't heard of that approach before. Or making limbs from the boxes............ very interesting!

A vetern is a reference to ex-armed forces personnel who have appeared alongside Chris Tarrant. A very specific reference, I know, but totally true.

The cloth is actually quite simple, if you press (i think its b) in Novodex Rocket, you can see it is jointed boxes with stress points and a mesh put over the top. Very clever.
