Easter compo has just finished - results here;
http://www.caiman.us/ce2006/lijst.asp
(lots of DB games in prize winning categories!)

New compo has just started. Full details here;

Biggest hurdle is thinking of a game that involved packaging machines! Luckily we have until 1st October to finish game.

The good news is that EVERY game that is rated 60% or more is guaranteed $50 cash!!!

I would really like to enter this compo, so anyone got any ideas?

Boo!

i was thinking about that the other day and i realized... "i make that much in 3-4 hours of lawnmowing... but it would take me 30-40 hours to make a game that would rate 60% or higher..."

so i think i'm out of this one... (that and i'm all competitioned out if you know what i mean, i've been doing one after another since i got DarkBasic... i want to make a game just for the fun of it without worrying about any deadlines )

but good luck if you enter! maybe a mario style game with packing crates, or a mario cart one where the bonus boxes are packing crates... or.. umm.. something that would make you win...

This is because it's not fair to the people who create their games from scratch."

That's what confuses me but then if it's going up from 100 to 1% then no

No, I think it means that if you make a game in T3DGM, then you will only get 90% of whatever score you would get it if was made in a real programming language, right?

Oooh, interesting...

Yeah, I'd say that if you made a game in T3DGM and got a score of 65%, then it'd be reduced to 58.5% as a penalty

yeah, that's what it means, they did a penalty like this for the last compo with old games that were made before the compo (you could submit them but they'd get 10% of their score taken off)

This looks interesting. And there´s enough time to make something decent. Including packaging machines will be challaging though. Maybe I´ll make "MiR Ware: Packaging Fun!!".

Need path finding in your games? Have a look at the tutorials on www.telefonica.net/web2/paskyprog/.

Hmmm... At least I have more time. Something to think about. Packing machines, huh? Maybe I'll make the first Post Office sim. Fascinating... Maybe next we'll have a Bic ball point pen competition or a Twinkie competition...
