Lol,

We have an edit button ya know...

Magic World was specifically designed for DB(as long as I remember), so you could give it a try.

Question: Why do you need to use it?

Cheers.

well, i was wanting to make a matrix with smooth hills and mountains. i've heard that matedit doesn't work in DBPro and i don't know crap about .bsp yet. or better yet, i wouldn't mind doing things the hard way if someone has some good tutorials (using trig functions, perhaps?) to make some smooth looking landscapes. or, i could get off of my lazy ass and try some bsp tutorials if anyone knows of some REALLY GOOD ones.

Magic world "if it's the one you are refering to" is in the showcase area on this site.

I hope that link came out ok, if not just drill down on the showcase it's close to the end.

It's not the size of your code but how efficiently you use it!

RisTar, I would personaly use a Quake 3, Half Life, or another editor that will allow you to make big buildings. I personaly bought CShop (for those who dont know, its cartography shop), & it was worth all of the cash I put down on it. I have been told by some people that I sent the link for the demo to, that it was better than Worldcraft Hammer Edition.

Back to work,

Yes it does!
For use in DBP though you may have to edit the magicload1-1.dba file to remove the STATIC command which is now redundent. Otherwise it works well.

dialog pops up select file magicload1-1.dba

let it create a project file for easier loading next time if you want

remove STATIC command from top

clck menu

file -> save source

Presss CTRL+F on your keyboard and type in static and you should find it - I hope .

look for the section called STATIC OBJECTS
then rem out the statements in that section of code that say
make static object.

than you should be able to load your maps with dbp.

Anyone have some tutorials for Magic World? The link that comes with the help file is broken.

Thanks!
