My brother has been working on music, specifically beats for raps and such, today he hit #1 on SoundClick's Beats/Instrumentals page, and #1 on the "Top Unsigned Artist" list.

As you can see in this screenshot he has well over 360,000 competitors (spelling?) He's pretty happy right now, his website should be launched later today (I'm finalizing it) it can be previewed @ www.remedyproductions.com

As you have probably guessed, I'm trying diligently to convince him to make some orchestral music for my games We'll see how it goes, till then - hats off to him, hes only just turned 16!

Not to put a downer on his acheivement, but the beat is a bit poor in my opinion.

For the style of music, the beat is fine. What's wrong with it?

Pincho - I agree, thats not one of his best. I dont know why people went crazy over it but they did, I guess its that sort of style that rappers are looking for.

Jess - Look to the bottom my friend

He's pretty happy, hes getting some offers on leases too which is exciting

I'd have to second Paxton on that, and IMO I can't see how a rapper would put anything over that really, but he's probably got much better stuff anyways, and looks like he's soon to be a 16 year old tycoon. Congrats to him.

Why do people put things like "and I'm only 16" etc. Is it supposed to make it sound better?

Anyways, congrats to him.

I was thinking that as well. A 16 year old could have say 5 years experience, which when compared to a 20 year old with only 2, doesn't sound at all impressive anymore.

I 100% agree with you, I tell him to change it because age doesnt matter, but he doesnt listen Oh well, its up to him. Saying your age shouldnt make people ooh and aah over your work, it should be the quality of your work that does that Age also shouldnt be a factor when you cant figure something out "IE. gimme da codez im only 9!"

Anyhow thanks guys, he appreciates the comments. He was pretty damn excited when he woke me up and told me to go to SoundClick, he printed out the image he had me make and showed it to everyone at school. He had a good day Im also getting a bit of business out of this, had a few emails about logo requests which is always nice

He might also want to consider changing thisparagraph . Work is work, if you're somewhat humble (or at least realistic and friendly) but skilled and determined people will like you and hire you, and then Murder Inc. will hire you.

I agree BearCDP, he definitely needs to build a large (LARGE!!!) base and rep before he starts getting stars in his eyes. He may be good for what hes doing, but personally I found the beats to be borderline dull.

Wow, just noticed your brother is using a pay account on soundclick--- he must be making some decent money with his stuff

I've created an account on there myself (free), and am surprised at all the things it offers.
