Sorry, but I don't know where to post this. I am selling Firewall through another company, and I had to make some changes to the demo, including a time limit feature. However, whenever he downloads it and runs it, he gets a runtime error 93 when trying to enter the battle or arena. I can't seem to duplicate this error, and don't know what it causing it, because that error means that it was unable to load a mesh, and I did not do anything with meshes in-game. Does the same bug happen to everyone else? Here is the link for the company-specific demo: (sorry, it's 33 megs, I'm not expecting a lot of people to try this, only you with broadband)

Game started off ok. Main game works great. What didn't work properly at all was the arena game. Managed one quick game but noticed a few graphical glitches, some sort of z-fighting between overlapping textures, so lots of horrid zig-zaggy graphics.

Played a 2nd game and withing about 30 seconds game ground to halt and hung except for music carrying on. Had to ctrl-alt-del and abort with task manager.

My system specs:

AMD Athlon XP 2000+
512MB
MSI GeForce4 Ti4600 (128MB)
XP Home SP2

@ Spooky: Yeah, the z-stuff is annoying. I had someone else model the arena for me, I didn't know how to 3d model too well back then, or texture for that matter. I wish I had done it better, but oh well. Thanks for the report.

Firewall does have bugs, I'm not going to deny it. That arena bug being one of them, I have absolutely no idea why it does that, it appears to be random. That is why I'm being much more careful as I make the sequel, much more testing and stuff.

Thanks for trying it out at least, and I replied to your email

@ Sunrise: I am assuming so, but he said that he reinstalled it, and it didn't work, and it looks like it worked for Spooky. Maybe it's his computer for some strange reason...

I'll try to fix the bug that Spooky reported in the email (timer not functioning after repeat playing), then maybe upload a new one for testing.

EDIT: Currently uploading new zip, so link won't work...

EDIT2: Upload done...not sure if this will make any difference though. There seems to be lots of randomness happening in my game lately. I'm so glad I'm done with DBC and on to DBPro...

downloading, what version of DB was it compiled under?, maybe another version would clean up the problem, and does he have current drivers and DX?, any of those can cause problems.

That was a random bump, didn't expect that one.

Hmm...well, after I recompiled it, it seemed to work fine for me (the version accessible by that link). So I sent the guy the link again, saying that if it doesn't work, then there may be something wrong with his hard drive, like a corrupted sector, because no on else ever has the error loading a mesh like he did.

@ Me!: It's actually in DB Classic 1.13... It only needs DX 7.1, so he should be fine, haha

ok, it crashes out to a white screen in the arena when I press enter, other than that it seems ok so far, will edit if I find anything else.
