At school today, the computer I was using crashed. No big deal. Then this appears during boot.

No big deal, I think. Just 2 50MHZ processors.

WOW!

INCREDIBLE!
The most amazing thing is, these were BOTH running on a mini ITX with no cooling fan!

I heard something about some PC's (And XP installations that aren't updated to SP1/2) show the newere Intel P4's as dual-core, when in fact they're not, but because of hyper-threading or whatever they show up...

I don't know the exact details, I'm not great in the processor department

You should see the specs of my computer at work--- 2 smoking fast 3D video cards, dual LCD, 2 GB RAM (soon to be 4)--- and yah, I can't remember it all as I'm home right now

hyper threaded cpu's can be interpretted by win xp as two cpus, my machine at home does this. If you look at the Task Manager performance tab youll probably see two scrolling grids for the "cpu's".

yeah! my Intel 3.1ghz ht shows up as 2 cpu`s, strangley it only ever shows DB as using 50% of each cpu, I think what it`s trying to say in it`s peverse Winderz manner is it thinks it has two 3.1ghz cpus, but when it checks the performance each "3ghz" cpu is going at 1.5ghz cos it`s actualy just 1 3ghz cpu pretending to be two cpus and it gets windows confused (almost as confused as I am getting, I think I`ll quit now while I am ahead) (see screenshot attached)

Dr Frankenstiens mum told him to make some new friends, not knowing where this was going to lead.

My P4 3.6ghz shows up as dual as well.

@ Me!

56 processes?! Insane! I couldn't stand to be anything but minimalist when it comes to my computer, however, and have a lot of things that should be on turned off I hope that doesn't cause too many problems... haven't seen any yet.

2.8GHZ on a Mini ITX is still pretty good when it is silent, no cooling fan.

i might not have 2 processors or a firegl graphics card but i do have more screens than jeku
i have 3 17" tft's attached to my pc at 1280x1024, kinda acquired one when we were redecorating a room that my dad's pc was in, it still hasn't been finished and my dad just uses his laptop, the other was a spare at his work (it's his dental practice so it is his monitor before anyone thinks i stole it ).
the only problem is windows won't hardware accelerate more than one monitor, even though there are 2 graphics cards.

more on topic(ish) i wish my school had pc's like that one

attached proof for any doubters:

I have a Pentium 2.8 prescott core, it'll show as 2 CPUs. It's the hyper-threading.
