Hey all,

Any Losties?

Just wanted a non-plot specific opinion or two on season 2, please leave out spoilers for the poor UK'ers who are still hankering for season 2.

Personally, I've loved every excruitiating minute - the delays in showing episodes has been a nightmare, but over all it's been worth it - I think there's only 3 or 4 episodes left, so it's wrapping up to the obligatory big finish, last weeks episode was insane.

If anyone want's to discuss theories, then feel free to email me, but as I said it's too good to spoil for those who haven't been watching/downloading.

I'm a Hugo-sized LOST fan!

Any of the past 4 or 5 episodes had enough happen to be a season-ender. It is amazing to think how much the show advanced this season when looking back at the beginning of it. More happens in one episode of LOST than an entire season of other shows.

What I really LOVE about the show is the very fine attention to detail that they give. Absolutely everything ties together in some way. You can tell they are not writing as they go.
All that and it only keeps getting better!

We UK'ers get to see season 2 starting May 2nd - I can't wait. The 10 minute catchup video on channel 4's site is good to watch and it also gives a sneak preview of stuff in Season 2, which looks fantastic.

If anyone posts ANY spoilers season 2 here, can a mod immediately delete the offending section! Thanks! - oh yeah, then break their legs.

I love LOST. I've seen all of season 1, and a few episodes of season 2. I'm forcing myself not to watch any of the new ones right now though, so I can just buy the season 2 dvd and watch them all in order.

I shall keep an eye on things Spooky , I would'nt want to be responsible for ruining any of it. There's quite a long break comming up before the last couple of episodes, damn it's about 3 weeks long.

Now that is both cruel and unusual, if the BBC did that with any of their programmes there would be cival war!.

The only thing I don't like about he show is that they bring up plot points and then don't mention them again for like 10 episodes.

Yeah, I agree with that - it's all stuff that needs to be explained, but it is a little slow going, mostly because of the other stuff happening that is so damn interesting, the writers make us wait, that's for sure!.

When I started watching, we watched about 4 episodes per night until we caught up with the American's, now we wait for Thursday with baited breath - it's really the best thing on TV for years, heck possibly ever in my book.

I must say LOST is quite possibly my favorite TV show of all time.. behind Knightrider and The A-Team of course!!!

I have of course seen and own the first season but have only seen episodes 1-6 of season 2.. even so I would NEVER have expected it to go the way it has.. which is of course the genious of LOST.. You just kind of get the feeling that SO much has gone into writing the intertwining multi-strand plot...

I really must get around to burining some more onto DVD!!! - By the way how illegal is this?? I mean it's going to be shown on TV for free (well with TV lisence of course of which i pay for) plus I'm so going to buy the actual box set when it arrives!!! I'm really not one for piracy at all.. but i HAVE to see LOST.. especially that i am now out of work and have loads of free time!

ABC is supposed to start offering free downloads of some of its shows (including LOST) for a couple of months, starting in May.

The most troublesome law would be that we aren't paying to see Lost, because we aren't even viewing the adverts. I have seen several sites offering free Lost episodes, so really if those Mericans are happy to upload Lost for us, then I think it'd be rude not to download it.

The way I see it, the legalities start and end with people uploading copyrighted media, not downloading TV shows that are transmitted to homes all over America - they're just starting to get the jist, that there's no point in persuing the legalities in downloading TV shows as opposed to music, games or movies. In other words, if ABC told me they did'nt like me downloading Lost, then I'd stop, mostly out of shock though.

They show Lost in jail right?

You know, using your VCR to record a show or movie is illegal.

...it isn't illegal to record TV shows on your VCR.

Cable companies are the people that are offering Tivo services. That isn't illegal either.

What is illegal is recording a show and then redistributing it. The broadcast companies then have no control over their own product. People can edit out commercials or even content is they so desire. It isn't so much that they care that you see the show, it is that you don't see the adverts that pay the bills. They also offer a pay-per-view option (see link in my previous post) that is advert-free. Dowloading from somewhere else cuts this service (and their product) off at the knees. That is illegal. Oh.. and so is speeding

Wrong. It's only illegal if you get caught.

I'm wondering... is Lost the one with that plane and the first series was like just their own back history with a teeny-tiney bit of real on-island storyline and the second season uncovers one of the islands mysteries but in typical american drama fashion actually simply creates several more confusing mysteries?

You know exactly what Lost is, stop trying to misdirect people with a backhanded criticism.

I'd have to disagree with you there. I still maintain it's illegal to record shows off the air, even for personal use. The only real legal use of a VCR is to play casettes you have purchased or produced yourself with a camcorder, etc. Of course I'm not 100% sure this is correct, but I do recall reading an article on it, a long time ago.

There are lots of misconceptions in regard to copyright infringement, i.e. making a backup copy of a music CD/game/program is illegal also, where as the majority of people think it's allowed. Of course, the reason VCR's and burners haven't been banned is because they still have legitimate uses.

Nope - Van-B don't watch those shows.

Lost is a mix between Gilligans Island and The Twilight Zone. It's not something you start watching or watch sporadically, you have to watch the whole series, give each episode your full attention, and it just grabs you. Has there ever been a show that would be considered addicting before?, not to the extents of lost. People who watched the first series will mostly need to know what is inside that Hatch, and every episode introduces more things that we need to know. You either love it, Hugo sized like a lot of people here, or your an other (looks at Raven with notable distrust).

LOL

I just love the double standards with Lost though, like the others are so evil... Yet pretty much every survivor in lost has done far worse!

It's another Lostless week, looks like I'll just have to do some work instead . Luckily when it does start showing in the UK, there won't be the same problems, because it'll all be ready to show every week. They're still making the season finale.
