its not bad! A little off key sometimes - but I think its intentional. Shame its in Mono! Why?!

Would make good music to go with a main menu of a game.

great tune! I like it. Also the composer Itzhak Perlman wrote a violin, cello and choral piece called "Immolation" that was featured in the film "Schindler's Liste".

I've recently been listening to some music performed by Oscar Peterson and Itzhak Perlman, strange that someone should mention him here.

Thanks for the feedback!

@Nicholas Thompson: I really wouldn't mind it being stereo, but don't know how to...will have to look that up...

@Odd Mind: that's interesting. That's not a commonly used word, though it was teh best one I could come up with for a title...

Not bad, but why is it in mono? A little stereo depth and some effects would do wonders here. Keep the piano center, but stick the strings out to the left and right a bit and toss in some reverb. The squeaky strings pizz sound that comes in around 1:00 is a bit annoying, I'd ditch that. But keep the rest man, it's not bad!

9 and 3/4 out of 10. Lost a 1/4 for not being stereo.

Its pretty original, and I like the textures used. No stereo = . But I still like it. Wish it had been longer, though.

Me gusta ostinato. Pretty neat little song you've got there. The only part that bothers me is the funky syncopation in the beginning, hard to transition from that to these persistent, driving gestures that make up the majority of the tune.

Your french horn or whatever it is should be at a lower volume than the piano, and about the same volume as the violin. It is dominating the score, and really should not have the lead part.

I love it! Really great. I'm gonna keep this one. It would really be nice in some strange platform-jumper. Reminds me of Psychonauts in some strange way, even though I've only played the demo of it...

A new, less dominated by horns version. Thanks for pointing that out Pincho: I honestly hadn't noticed...and Peter_, not sure I can keep up the quality...not that I won't try...

Pretty cool tune! Sounds like a French Murder Mystery, kinda reminds me of the Hercule Poirot series on TV (I know he's Belgian ) By the way, is Garageband a sequencer?

I meant like how does the software work? Some music composing softwares out there are sequencers, they use synthesized or artificial music notes (as opposed to real instruments) then you simply position the notes and different time intervals and combine all your different instruments to make a track.

I don't think Garageband is a sequencer, sounds too realistic!

@ hexgear: Yes, it is to some extent. they also however have recorded loops of instrument, some of which I used. however, their Instrument synths are very good.

@ Megaton: never heard it...

And you call yourself a games programmer! Its akin to saying you've never heard of Pac-man! (Ok, maybe not that far)

But Monkey Island is an adventure/puzzle game, and nothing to do with sequencers

@David R I've heard of it, and seen stuff about it, read reviews, and was joyous when I unlocked the Monkey Island easter egg in Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine. Just never heard the music.

*Slaps self on head*

Ok, it appears I read the word 'of' into that sentence. I thought you said 'never heard of it' (as opposed to 'never heard it') to Megaton about Monkey Island. Which you didn't So, stupid me as usual.

Carry on...

Does the key change at some point? If not - try changing the key of the music during the middle bit. It might add cool variety.

Just a note: If you use this in a game, please put my name in the Credits, along with my e-mail.

And...Here's a new tune! It's mainly synths, but with a funky guitar as the lead. It's nicely stereoified, and is self titled..."Funky 'Shroom Dance." Feedback (aNd criticism), as always, is appreciated!

P.S.: Peter_ says it's "raad" (and "better then the last one")

Awesome. Did you call it "Funky Shroom Dance" because that bass line has a faint resemblance to the Super Mario "underground" theme, except funky groovin? If not, then okeydokey. It's groovy.
