print "hello world"
wait key

is what you need, just the print on it`s own will end the instant the message comes up, thats so fast all you see is a flicker.

make object cube 1,1
do
turn object left 1,0.1
loop

is the classical revolving cube object, if you still have problems then make sure you have this years directx 9.0c, the latest update and the latest gfx card drivers.

you need to tell the program to wait so you can see what is on the screen.

print "hello"
wait key

You have to use wait key or it exits the program.

also DB pro unlike the normal db runs carpy on the school machines even when moving around a simple cube. i tried syncrates from 0 to 30 to 100 to 2000 still runs choppy

sync rate of 0 is flat out, if you have a low speed then see if the machine has the latest video card drivers, also make sure pro is patched and the directx is bang up to date, although as far as I know Pro won`t run if DX isn`t the latest version.

@Xmen and dugzilla: is there an echo in here?, or is it just me
