I'm making a new website and a new name for my designing "company" (I call it a company but it isnt really, it's really a "one man operation" you know what I mean ) This website is all made by me - apart from the phpbb forum and couple of other stuff - I'm gonna get a domain off UK2.NET and so on, etc, etc, blah blah blah,

ANYWAY , It's mostly gonna be made in Adobe Photoshop (pages and images) and I've made a 2 types of logos for the "company" , the original, and one with scan lines, please tell me which is better (I might have to redo the scan lined one) :

I defintley like first one more. The second one dosn't have the "smooth" look in it.

different styles, first one is smoother, but second one feels "darker" or more secretive

Most people said the scaned line one, I thought the first one was good, but it's really a matter of the makers opinion, so I might go for the first one

try to make a higher res version of the first one, i dont think the quality is as high as it could be, at the minute i prefer the second 1, but i think that the first one could look better and take it

Definately Number 1 is best

I think the second one would look better had either the scanlines be made the frontmost layer, or the outline been more smooth.

I'd combine the two images!!!

Put the first image on a layer.
Put the second image on a layer.
Put a Selection around the first image.
Feather the selection by about 10 or more pixels. Select/feather.
Invert the selection.
Ctrl/c
paste the selection over the second image.

now you should have the scanlines in the middle of a solid outline. Slowly fading from transparent to solid.

I would have done it if they weren't jpg.

The one with scanlines will proberly look odd when resized.

By way of demonstration, he emitted a batlike squeak that was indeed bothersome.

redesign it in a vector package.
this will allow you to resize it without quality loss, from postage stamp to freeway sign in size.

unless your logo is quite large as a bitmap eg 600 dpi 21cm x 27cm etc..
otherwise you wont be able to print it at any size unless precautions are taken with regards to the dpi.

commercial packages
flash
illustrator
freehand
etc..

free / cheap packages

If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself 

Wow, no one commented on that? I guess I won't either (see? just because I'm liberal doesn't mean I'll bite the worm )

I like the second one better. It's more futuristic and stuff. For some reason that design makes me want to play Hitman
