Without reading the thread: If you think iTunes is _just_ poorly designed you're blind and niave (sp), worst app I've ever used, and that does included the ones that came out of MS...

Guys, rich said that there was a Quicktime standalone, which means you can get Quicktime by itself, not iTunes.

Well yes, of course. iTunes uses QT as its heart.

What you did was like trying to install Doom 3 on a PC without a graphics card.

That link gives you QT without iTunes, which is what people were moaning about.

Well i removed quicktime and itunes now msn won't recognize the music playing

Looks like you'll have to use Win media player, but to be honest we all know you'll be listening to Kasabian or Meatloaf anyway

I don't see why you don't want quicktime with iTunes, you'll be able to use .mov file format.

I have problems with streaming real media files with real alternative but I think that´s a fault with the real media codecs as I have the same problems on another pc with real media player 10 installed. The quick time alternative works fine. It doesn´t include a mode to save the files though. Which is anoying.
