...and its about time...

Hopefully it'll be a good (albeit short) series

I wonder how quickly some people (those who haven't seen it before, and probably living in America) will say that the Cybermen are a clone of The Borg...

Anyhoo - we must commiserate Mnemonix, who is going to a wedding, and thus wont be able to see the first episode tonight. Lets hope the BBC decide to repeat each episode on terrestrial TV (if ol' Memmy doesn't have Freeview, that is).

It should be good - do hope the SFX qualtity increases, although from rumours I heard at IMDB, the SFX department has had to contrain itself this time.

the problem i've had with Dr. Who is that the aliens just arn't very... sinister.

i guess that's the sort of camp appeal of the show though

I don't have a sig, live with it.

Some are and some aren't.

Daleks & Cybermen you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley. Ones like the Yeti aren't terribly scary to look at, but its not always how they look, but what they do that induces fear...

Dr Who is the best comedy I've ever seen, I just sitting there laughing all the way through as though Bill Bailey was the director...Oh its not a comedy oops I personally don't like how they make it, because like I said it makes me laugh, however when I was younger I used to like it because the Daleks were cool. But I think they act better than the Star Trek folk

The new Doctor does not look very good, but hopefully some of the stories will save him. Some stories also look very bad as well.

The new doctor looks fine to me. He seems to have the charisma of Tom Baker and the humanness of Peter Davison. Should be great.

As Mr. Kingsley Bsc. was kind enough to point out, I am at a wedding tonight and cannot watch the first episode, so if any spoilers get poster, im afraid I will have to shoot him with my tissue compression eliminator!

I think he looks brilliant!

It's pretty weird that Doctor Who came back after all these years. My Dad was a huge fan of all the 'original' series, and now we're both into the new ones.

Kinda cool in a nerdy, sad way.

Dr Who is pretty damn good I'll definately be watching it tonight. Looks as though ITV will have to watch its ratings again. They drained away alot during the last series.

The Japanese version of Dr Who is very amusing to watch I highly recommend it (exactly the same, but with very fast and poorly dubbed Japanese)

I have come to the conclusion that the man who "pretends" to be cartoon character Fred Flintstone, Mr. IanM is actuall in fact a cyberman in disguise. Look at his location, it says "In my moon base".

I draw your attention to exhibit A: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Moonbase

No, doctor who has not been on for a few weeks now. You are referring to another run of Doctor Who, not the new series. Unless your in a country that gets the Tennant series before UK.

US, and it is the new one. Already seen a few episodes, like the one with some alien maniquin arm that attacks the doctor and the girl at her house. shh, i've already said too much.

How old can it be if friday is a new episode and it just started airing last month? ok ok, i believe. But did they make two different series back to back or what?

Well, sci-fi is notorious for picking up forgotten series' and playing them as if they are the newest thing ever.

Take Andromedia, for instance, they started playing the old episodes every tuesday. Stoped. Then started again. Now they have picked up John Doe, which was from quite a time ago. And heck, they even play their famed Stargate series from beginning to end on monday and every weekday at 6. Even watch it in the morning somedays to see battlestar galatica episodes (the old ones). Or the crusade (don't think they play it anymore). well, alot of old stuff in Sci-fi.

More convincing is this http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/ linked as the 'new' series.

Or mabey not??? Confused now...

Okay, we are seeing the 2005 version? Why change... a character after a year?
