I may go back to Firefox, but lately I've been experimenting with that new Flock browser (made by some folks that came from Firefox). Does the new Firefox have loads of unneeded things that jack up the RAM usage, or is it still fairly basic yet helpful?

Didn't take much notice of the new components. My Ram is big anyway.

I suppose I will go back to FireFox, if just for the compatibility.

Tried out the new FireFox, and it seems to run exactly as Flock anyway. Even the plugins are the same.

I know it's made by some people from FireFox, but I had at least thought it to be a different browser, than exactly the same thing under a new name. Didn't know any single company went and made identical products with different names and gave them to people.

They aren't identical, they have different functionality and usage.

But lets keep this on topic, please.

Flock uses exactly the same COM system and rendering engine as FF, and is practically indentical. I found it totally useless, so I stuck with FF

My auto-update seems to be broken. It just doesn't work

I updates...but haven't noticed any changes. My college finally fixed their packet shaper, so our connection is finally as fast as it should be now.

Isn't there supposed to be an update button somewhere in FF? I see something when I first open it but then it dissapears almost instantly.

Mine couldn't do the short download for some reason, so it had to do the large version. It only happened on one computer though...

Update checks can be done in Help -> Check For Updates.

Just found that one of my laptops has a 4K bad cluster - might be time to start looking for a new hard drive...

You mean as in the invisible "Check For Updates" item? It's not there.

Usually I see a little arrow in the upper right hand corner of the window, it'll either be green or red.

Seems visible enough for me..

I think you've got a much older version - go to the Firefox website and download the full program.

Yep, that must be it. A version that clearly "doesn't have it".

Hmm...Benjamin's Firefox wants him to promote it, but it can't even update itself! Sounds fishy to me

Ever since the new version Firefox "breaks" sometimes, gets fixed with a restart. Everytime I try to go to a site, I always get an "(Untitled)" page.
