Hi
Im interested in this software, I just have one question. I understand the final game comes out in a .exe format. If you just create a simple game is it possible to make the final game as a .swf format so people can play the game online.

thanks for any help with this matter

SWFs and EXEs are completely different not only in file types but in the languages that program them. If you want to make flash games look around for tutorials on Java, JavaScript and ActionScript on google.

currenlty there is only one way but it costs lots of money. Look up something called igLoader - there is a bit about it in the TGC newsletter No 37

The user still ends up downloading the game though, but it will run in the browser.

Remember, even flash games in SWF still have to be downloaded, it's just that the browser does it all for you. Also flash games tend to be much smaller filesize wise because you already have the main engine installed on your pc as part of the flash player. No such luck for Darkbasic games. User would have to download the lot.

Maybe one day TGC will make some sort of activex or java control similar to flsh player, that allows users to play DBPro games in a browser. I think that would persuade a lot more people to buy DBPro.

Currently though DBPro is not really suited to that sort of thing because of the way it writes lots of temp files and takes over your pc a bit too much.

Boo!
