Newcomers DBPro Corner / Patch 4 problems

Hi,

This might just be me being daft but I'm stumped. I installed patch 4 and ever since then, none of the demos work, I tried the sphere shader demo and the screen went blank for about 5 mins then the demo loaded but the sound was fuzzy, all the graphics seemed ok though.

I then read a few posts and decided to do a complete uninstall / reinstall which I did, but it's still the same. The demos were fine with 3.1 and the new IDE (which I haven't added in yet)

My machine is an AMD 2000xp with XP installed 512Mb ram and an ATI AIW Rage Pro(old but OK)drivers all updated and direct-x 9 installed.

Any suggestions?
