Hi! I'm planning to send some music in mp3 format to my uncle in Greece. Does anyone know if the music will work on a European computer?

Well theres the strangeness of DVD's not being able to do certain things, but it would be more than stupid if an .mp3 didn't work. I'd bet all my money that it does.

"One World, One Web, One Program" -Microsoft ad.
"Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Führer"(One People, One Kingdom, One Leader)-Adolf Hitler.

It won't. MP3's have been specifically designed to format a foreign hard drive upon impact as an anti-theft system designed by the music industry. I wouldn't try it if I were you.

And yes, I'm kidding.

As long as his computer can handle an MP3 (IE it's not a computer from 1986) it should be able to work just fine, as does most other media (I think). My friend Amber just moved to the UK from here and we still trade MP3's back and forth constantly so I'm pretty sure they're universal. The software to listen to the MP3 might be different, but the file itself should be readable no matter what country you're in. Just be warned that your music will sound much spicier their than it does here, and with waaay too much garlic, too.

Most media files don't use the regional encoding simply because they are used all over the internet, I think you're thinking to hard because of DVD's, Playstation games etc. When you have the file format on PC it shouldn't matter if they were in Greece, Italy or Cambodia

Isn't that the only country in the world that doesn't like the US Mp3 format

Of course it will work!

Europe isn't on a different planet...

The only annoying thing is DVDs - but that's sorta diminshed by the plethora of cheap region free dvd players. I myself have just purchased a copy of Anchorman, in russian, from Estonia. Mmm!
