I've tried creating an online game with DBC, so far so good

I didn't require to enter in a port when joining / hosting the game. If your looking to just let the firewall know which port to leave open... you can just allow the game/program to access the internet.

As far as i know i believe u can set what port to access in the configuration depending on which option you pick for net connection.

Hope that helps

If you require more explanation, I shall be back tommorow *starts racing to get ready for work*

Ports are not implemented in DB Classic's use of DirectPlay, so if you have a router, then you can't do anything about it - apart from opening all the ports. This is very dangerous and is not recommended!!

There are third-party add-ons which you can use instead, but I've never used any of them so I can't advise on their use.

Directplay uses several ports, you can find them on the microsoft website. Try searching with "directplay" or "directx multiplayer" something like that
