I can honestly say I've never been more excited about a book release. If you're familiar with maddox's site, then you'll definately want a copy of his new book.

Some might consider it "selling out", but personally I congratulate him on getting a book deal out of moronic (but hilarious) ramblings on a webpage.

Well played, but dude you need to get the bosnian twang in there... Where are your caps? What's with the contraction ("it's" instead of "it is")?

Seriously though ... erm - to steer this thread back on track, anyone have any thoughts on the implications of this book? Some kind of writing award on the cards? hmm. maybe not.

Sorry mang. Couldn't find the original quote so I had to lift it from someone else. 2nd hand sources and all that ...

Btw, I really am not well read, so I will now sit back and let people who actually believe that book is not stupid to comment.

I've never really liked Maddox, I mean he's quite offensive.

What's the big deal with him anyways? He writes an entry every 3 or 4 months and people call him a genius. Bah.

I've never worked out whether he is joking or not when he says offensive stuff. :/

I wouldn't go as far as to call him a genius at all... he just writes funny stuff sometimes. He used to write more frequently, but I'm sure you can correlate his book deal and his lack of updates.

Quote: "I've never worked out whether he is joking or not when he says offensive stuff."

I'm pretty sure that you can only be funny if you know what you're saying is stupid. D'you know what I mean? It's like David Brent from the office - he's such an obnoxiously offensive character, and yet he's celebrated as the best thing since sliced bread. As a viewer, you're not agreeing or laughing with him ... you're laughing at him. Similar deal here.

You'll notice that there's a torrent of disagreeable people on comedies now (at least on the UK there is) and it's very much a modern style of comedy.

I thought you made something good
But when I saw that publication I was shocked
I thought a publisher printed it
I thought they made it using windows publisher
IS that a book, a doughnut or 3 year old public hair

I REALLY THINK THAT ITS BORING!

Like I said, I enjoy *most* of the humour on goaste.cx

I just don't understand what's so funny about bitching and moaning, using dozens of expletives and trying so hard to be offensive. Perhaps it's the young and hip thing to do, but I generally do not fit into that category

Yes, he is a member of the "Erms Cult." Erms spelled it with an 'e' in one of his thread accusing us of being racist I believe...

Jeku: His posts stopped when he began the book. Before then was consistant humor.

He does go too far some times, but it's not like he's being serious about any of it. I find him hilarious

I am indeed an Ermist. That was an entertaining thread...

I particularly enjoy Maddox's attacks on celebrities, people worried about illegal aliens taking jobs, and his unintentionally sexual comic book covers.

I only read the first blog thing on his list - the paedophile rant. I got half of my guesses wrong and banged up a few people for kiddy fiddling that were innocent. They looked funny though, so I reckon they still deserve it.
