I'm finalizing my game and just am curious about your opinion.... which build game looks better, judging by the two screenshots of the same room?

Pic one attached to this post.

Jiffy is back!

Anyway, Benjamin: For me, number 2 is a sure thing. The extra view of the window makes the game look more... realistic, to me, I suppose. And you arn't really missing out on much is you don't see the wall.

So yeah, I'll say No. 2

Number 2 is better. Full light mapping just makes a game look crap in fpsc.

Number 2, but only as there seems to be a bit of graphic distortion above Aiko in the first pic (maybe due to the different angle).

To be honest they look near identical.

Cheers, Rich.

Thanks for all of your comments! It will be 2 for sure.

Number one was done with full light mapping and number two with soft shadows mapping.

I'm glad soft shadow mapping looks better, it saves a lot of building time. Building the complete game (14 levels) with full light mapping took over 12 hours, but when it came to end of the last level, my computer crashed and that's no fun at all.

The building time with soft shadow mapping only takes about an hour, much better indeed, no crashes and still good looking.

Imo soft shadows look better then full light mapping, but there isn't to much difference between the two. It seems like full light mapping is overdoing it.
