Woohoo. Was gonna do a "dissertation handed in" post when I'd done my presentation this coming tuesday, but ahhh, while I'm here, I might as well say ... it's all done and handed in. 150page diss, 90 page development record, CD rom, and loose leaf folder all handed in. So, that means I've had time to chill for a bit and more importantly, write a new tune. This one is sci-fi melodic synth action with fast breaks, plenty of variation. Basically a lot of energy and good vibe.

Hope you peeps like it.

Thanks chap. Is that your first ever post with your new login? In a Fallout music thread? Ahhh, truly you are blessed with good fortune!

The music is great! Very Orbital. I like the vocal parts, would like to hear more like that, but clearer to understand what they are saying. I got a trojan horse whilst listening to it, so check it for viruses.

That's really bizarre! Scanned my local copy and downloaded the one from the server and scanned that also. No virus found. Can you get a virus in an MP3 without it corrupting the sound? Perhaps your firewall/anti-virus is detecting your media players communications as a trojan?!? No idea!

Anyway chap, glad you liked it! Thanks for the comments.

You can't really get a trojan horse from an MP3, as there's nothing executable in there. What may have happened is you got a trojan horse which hooked into Windows Media Player, and so whenever you use it, your AV software perks up?

Nice track Fallout. I personally wouldn't use the word "funktastic" but then maybe that's because I'm a purist I like the way you take time to make a little visual ident for each track. Very perfectionist. Time for a pissing contest ... how many words was your dissertation?

EDIT: Excluding your source code, obviously!

Well, it's a 10,000 word limit chap! But just under 16000 with appendices! So officially 10,000 ... and we'll just skirt over the extra 6000 at the back. ahem. Was yours a monster?

Yes ... but my dissertation was sizable too. fnar. fnar.

They had a recommended word count of 20,000 words. I could only manage 17,000. Got a really nice mark for it though ... 76% or something - one of the best in the year. Alas, my lax attitude to exams and general attendance in the second year did irreperable damage to my overall performance throughout the 3 years. Even though my disseration was first class material, I came out with a 2:2

@Adr

That's a bit harsh mate. I have no idea what I'll be getting overall. Had a mid 2:1 at the end of the 2nd year. Had one piss poor grade back from one module (45%) although, to be fair, the guy was marking it with his eyes closed. I think his mum was either sick or had just died at the time. Most of the comments he wrote on it were bollocks, such as "Where is the router in your diagram?" written right next to the square block on my diagram with "router" written inside it. If I miss a 2:1 or a 1st by a percent, I'll contest that assignment.

Otherwise, stuff has been going ok. Everything has been decent. Nothing amazing. Solid marks from my programming modules assignments (82%, 76%, 64%, 74%), but they're only 30% of that module. It's the lab book where the marks come form and I was quite lazy there.

So everything to play for man. I'm hoping for a 2:1. I'm mildly entertaining the possibility of a 1st in the back of my mind, but doubt it very much. Gonna revise hard to make sure I get the 2:1.

@Hawkeye

174 BPM! No wonder. You got out of sync you crazy robot nuttjob!

I've run out of witty feedback, so what can I say? I'm likin' it.

Swell work!

@CattleRustler

Bwahaha. Now I know your weakness! I'll just release a tune at 300BPM and when your arms drop off from playing along I'll come round and rob you of your expensive drum kit!!!

Nice work!

Skype tracker and a handful of VSTs.

Yeah I know, I'm not Fallout, but plenty of people have asked that question before

Easy mistake to make considering Skale is a crappy beta that only 7 people in the whole world are foolish enough to use.

Very nice job Fallout, I'm not a consistant listener like some here, but I love this song and will listen to some more of your work now

Thanks again guys. It's nice to get good feedback from here.

And yes, I did factor both of you into that count, so I guess that means only 6 people use it now Hawkeye has gone back to Reason.
