Holy freaking crap... I downloaded the demo and I'm sitting here playing at like 11:30 at night right, I think, ya know, it can't be that scary... I've played supposedly scary games before, never made me jump or anything... But holy crap. Everyone else in my house is asleep and I'd be surprised if they didn't hear me literally scream at one point. I had my headphones on, lights turned off and BOOM loud noise and a little freaking girl appeared. I made it through the first time it happened but the second time I ripped off my earphones and noticed that I had literally screamed.

I think I may just have to buy this game and upgrade my computer for it. No game has scared me like this before and I love it

I found it quite spooky, but it helps that the combat is tough as well. So you get the scarey little girl and then follow it up with quality combat. Ace game FEAR is. I'll have to dig it out again.

oh god did you guys hear about the sequel to this game?
one comapny own the name, and the other company owns the game materials.

so the other company cannot make a game with the name "FEAR 2" and the first comapany cannot make game "FEAR 2" because they dont have the material.

why dont they just team up again

Yeah, I've played the demo all the way through twice, it's pretty phracking amazing - the combat is great, the enemies are actually intelligent, and it's scarey... even knowing exactly what's going to happen, it's just spooky, even at 10:00 in the morning with the sun shining brightly.

And the second time, it was just as scarey, although

And even now, a good week and a half after I played it, I still get slightly creeped out in the dark. "omg what if Alma was behind that door..." and your mind starts playing tricks on you.. uggh.

Oh yeah, and the extra videos on the site - the ones with the psychtrist and Alma, oooo that was creepy, particulary after just playing the game.

Yeah. No doubt about it. It's some amazing stuff, the second I get out of the house and into college (translation: away from parents) I'm getting it and playing it at the darkest hours of the night.

i liked FEAR. good game, very moody, awesome gun battles and effects. One disappointment was it wasn't visually stunning texture-wise. If someone would merge the beauty of say HL2 with the battle system of FEAR youd have one sick game

Ehhh I thought the graphics engine was great, dynamic lighting, some nicely cubemapped stuff. Only problem was the sheer amount of power it took, it stuttered on everything but 800x600, so I ended up with my nose about 6 inches away from teh screen

the texture-wise bit were the operative words here

Yea, it sure does take a lot of power... I have to play it on almost all minimum settings on my rig...

And Hawkeye those parts were what made me freak out when I was playing last night... And I played through them again this morning and it still scared the crap out of me. Also

I plan on picking up the full version next week. The demo has certainly whet my appetite.
