My first question. How do you convert .mdl to .x? do you just have to rename it to e.g: supamodeldood.x?

no. You have to download a conversion program.

I tried calling it terror.x (terror was the name of the model). And it said that it was a .x (Turned into notepad format and said X-file.) Do you think that it is a REAL .x though?

Oh, i did need to make it as an enemy so if you cant make it work like one then dont bother making it fpsc ready... (just that there would be no point in having a model in your map that des not do anything.)

Can you give it scripts so that he can walk, just out static mode to no?

Make a new folder on your desktop name it what you want.
Place your Terror MDL model in it.

Using MS3d.
Go to Tools/Halflife.
Decompile Normal HL Mdl file.
Make sure all the boxes are checked and click OK.

You should find a lot of smd files in your new folder.
Go to File/import/Half-Life SMD and choose "Terror smd"its probably right at the end of the list.

After loading you should find the model displayed in MS3d with skeleton.

Now you need to load in the animations you want,do this by going to File/import/Half-Life SMD
and load for example "Walk SMD",click ok on the first box,and YES to "Append the animation at the end of the current animation?",repeat for all the animations you want.

Well thats it as far as getting your model and animations into MS3D,exporting to .X is trial and error(well as far as I'm concerned) but others might be able to tell you the correct way to do this.

BTW be aware this is just for fun or modding, you cannot use the models and thier animations in commercial projects.
