I took a break from Blanc Point, the crosshair pack and the sci-fi game to test out something...it worked.

Check out this office block!

This is very nice.
Are you going to do an interior, or is it more of a set piece?

Eventually i will do an interior but i primarily made it to pass the time and get some cool screenies.

F:6 is very low indeed, but i had several other programs running at the time.

Here's an update:

I re-built the tower and added a helipad at the top. Also, there are some lights at the bottom of the building

Looks nice, althought the helipad sticks out a bit too much for my liking. The framerates a problem though. Sucks it cant be faster

Looks good. Would be a good level with break-able windows and little ledge to crawl to a different room. One wrong step and away you go....

It a couple of custom segments; one has a straight wall, one had a curved wall.

This is one of my enties into the screen shot competition,

Great work - has a sorta Duke Nukem 3D vibe, sept with cool shadows.

Street lamps would be cool, where you have the light sources right now a few lamps would give some nice continuity, and break up the repeat pattern of the windows.

Hey Nice Building!

I am trying to build some outdoor architecture too. Do you have a big terrain? How is your framerate? I am having framerate trouble. I am stuck on it.

Will you look at my framerate trouble. Maybe you know some tricks.

Keep up the great work!

Thanks

Well, for this particular building, i'm not using a terrain as such, just the normal grass segment. However, i can make terrain (see pic).i'm getting poor frame rates too but my PC is old so i think i need an upgrade.

Possible ways to solve Lag (low frame-rate):
Hardware:
Get an up-to-date graphics card
Get an up-to-date Video Card
Get as much RAM as you can (1gb+ ideally)
Get a faster/better processor (Athalon is better than Pentium)

Software:
Make sure the latest version of Direct X is installed (9.0c, i think is the most recent)
When testing a game, turn off all other applications

Level Design:
Make all entities that don't need to move static
Don't have lots of big open spaces
Don't have lots of long corridor, put a doors in them to block polys
Don't have lots of entities in one room
Don't put the entire US army in one room

Changing some of these should help,
AE

Nice pics.

Just a tip: When placing things like trees and rocks, etc... hit the rotate key between placing so they all don't look exactly the same from every angle.
