America has already sold out during most presales. My last chance now seems to be NY.

Who's doing lead vocals then?
I loved AIC but im thinking its not gonna be that great without Staley. That Staley-Cantrell weird harmony stuff they did was like a signature of their music.

It's kinda like Stone Temple Pilots without Scott Weiland - sure the music would be grand yet a huge key ingredient would be missing.

There are just some bands that all of the members are simply irreplacable. Take Led Zeppelin for instance. John Bonham died and they never performed under the name Led Zeppelin again. Why? Because no matter who they got to play drums it just wouldn't be the same. It's not about talent, theres just some bands that just fall into the category of "all members are irreplacable", but this isnt true of all bands, just a small elite group of bands. I think AIC happens to fall into this category, but thats just mho.

I guess they needed the cash or something, but does it/will it do the name "Alice In Chains" any justice? I guess it remains to be seen.

I was quite curious when the commercial came on tv. I'm like AIC touring? But umm how? I saw Cantrell play before. (i think, it was a long time ago)

I'm guessing you're probably younger than the rest of us. But they were one of my favorites.

Not true. Nirvana wasn't "elite", but when kurt, the lead lyrics writer, and lead singer killed himself, the band well into oblivion.

Nirvana was like a painter, they became more famous, IMO, after Kurt died. My friends and I have a theory about that. We figured he finally woke up one day and realized what he was actually married to and couldn't handle it. I like Nirvana, but I think they're a bit overrated.

you're mischaracterizing how I used the term "elite" - reread my sentence. I didnt say this band or that band was elite, I said theres an elite group of bands where all of the members are irreplacable imho.

With regards to Nirvana:
Kobain was not replaceable, and neither was dave grohl. You might get away with replacing the bassist, maybe not. I don't include Nirvana in the group of bands where all members are irreplacable.

Didn't know Alice in Chains still played, if they did, odd that I haven't heard anything about them, tis one of the better grunge bands.

Well doubt I'll be going, I'm sure I'll be trying to get into gigs of bands I like more...probaly something to rub in my dad and brother's face as they are going to see the Rolling Stones and they try to wind everybody up
