i currently have 2 graphics cards, one with dual output, powering 3 monitors. therefore at least 2 of my monitors should be able to run accelerated 3d applications yes?. i find that opengl applications i write myself are happy to run at >400fps on both screens powered by my radeon x700, and between 200 and 300fps on the screen powered by the gforce6100 onboard graphics. all appears to be working..
however any other windows 3d appliaction such as dbp apps or guildwars etc.. as soon as the rendered part of the window toutches an area of another screen the whole system crawls at about 1 frame every 3 seconds, i don't just mean the game i mean everything inc. the mouse cursor.
google wasn't particularly helpful so i was wondering if anyone here has managed to get 3d apps to work on more than their primary monitor?

Im running two sets of twin monitors but both are mac so I cant help you there.

I found some FAQS regarding this area you might be interested in.
http://www.realtimesoft.com/multimon/faq.asp

here is a pc program that gives you a bit more leeway with dual/triple monitors
http://www.mediachance.com/free/multimon.htm

this article references and explains a little about dual monitors and direct x
http://www.gamedev.net/reference/articles/article608.asp

most of the time its your video card slowing things down over two monitors,
A lot of the time they half the video ram they have and give half to each monitor in a dual setup.
that said Direct X latest version does not seem to handle twin monitors easily, perhaps its the way DBP handles it.

regardless there is a good read here

If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself 
