Made this completely in photoshop. Took a few hours, mostly making sure it tiled properly. The coloring (the dark spots really) are somewhat noticable, but too much; depends how you use it. Anyways, free for anyone.

nice mate, did you use the offset filter to seam it and bump mapping techniques?
Did you know also setting light in photoshop can allow for global shadow baking without another program

check this out as well.

I drew everything but the sides. Then put a copy near each side to see what each had to lead into. Draw all the pieces together (just 2 sides really), then cut and paste a portion to opposite sides. No idea what the offset filter is. Is it in PS5? I *think I have a PS7 upgrade disc laying around somewhere.

Already got the nvidia plugins, but thx.

yeah check the bottom of the filters in shop look for offset

take a 256 x 256 image as an example
then offset it 50%
then go in and smudge or clean up the seam in the middle of your texture.

your basically doing the manual or old skool way.
one click and your done with offset.

Is this how to make a seamless texture?

Hey Phaelax can you tell me how to make a seamless texture?

I have no problems making textures or using digital images from a camera. But how are you making it seamless please.

Creating your own is much easier to tile than a photograph. If you have PhotoShop, you can use the "offset" as Indi has stated. (it'll save a bit of manual labor)

Rendered clouds dont seem to need any alterations after offsetting them.

1. Create a basic image you want to tile. (random blocks/foliage/etc)
2. Filter -> Other -> Offset
3. Make the 2 values half of your image's sizes (50%), and selecte "wrap around".
4. Fix any gaps or mismatched pixels.
5. All done!

That's essentially what I did, only I was doing the offsetting manually.

there are a few secrets like this, but it only works if the file is equally divisible on all sides.

256 x 256 filter / render clouds = seamless clouds.

you can also offset photos using this method and the clone tool to patch up the seams.

That's a nice texture but the rocks are too far apart. To make a texture tile just cut it in half, and flip both halves, the tidy up the centre. Then do the same vertically.

I see your problem now pincho, you actually have to load photoshop and use it to be good with it.
Im not even going to bother to google a link to prove it, just look up this post and read it carefully.

Some are even better than $$$ if you know how to use them the right way and take the time to learn.

I'm guessing something to do with gaussian distribution or perlin?
