I have been working casually on this title for the past week. It's intended to have the feel and style of an older digdug arcade game, yet with the modern visual amenities such as 3D depth, speed, and effects. It is also based largely on a Flash game called Motherload.

I closed up the bounds and put together this demo version, which shows the physics, sound (incomplete) and playability of the game, as well as a short blurb of the story. Some of the physics are rough yet, they will be completely smoothed out shortly.

Here is the download link for the demo:

What I'm looking for is comments, if it works and looks right on your systems, if it seems like something you might be able to get into with it being more complete, that sort of thing.

Thanks for looking. I may post updates depending on feedback.

Hey, I've played Motherload before! That's what I thought of when I saw this. Great job! Maybe I'll try the demo later.

Thanks, I am working on the level system right now, which controls the mine areas as you progress.

A primary function of the ship not present in the demo is earthquake detection. Early on it will be easy to predict earthquakes and you can clearly see the time before it approaches. When it hits, the ground will get scrambled. You can get trapped, or likely, destroyed if underground.

Later on as you get tougher things speed up and the earthquakes become more unpredictable and frequent.

I'll be doing the game this way to save on labor- I'm working on it myself and the main goal is to finish a playable game.

Anyone else try it? I was hoping for a little more feedback than this, I did more than come up with 2 lines of code and an idea for this!
