I swear this is illegal, but here is the story. My credit card was unusable for the month, because I made an insanely large purchase (new car), and so I couldnt pay the renewal fee. So Next month it was in redemption, and They said I had to wait. Well this month, the day after I deleted it from MY ACCOUNT, it was registered by some bogus site: http://www.goserveyourdomain.com . BS I say, but is this legal?

If you let it expire, of course it's legal.

What happened was, they stated CLEARLY to me, that it would take a day for it to be unregistered. An exact day. So I checked about 5 hours the next day, before I had unregistered it the last day (Ie, I unregistered 8pm the day before, and I checked if it was unregistered at 3pm), and I had just gotten the email saying it would be unregistered, but suddenly it was bought and registered to another company before it was supposed to be finished. I checked again today, same thing:X.

edit: I just got an "offer" from these people who bought the domain (even though I never emailed them), to get the domain for $50.

It's common.

There are many people, myself included, that have the ability to jump on domains the second they're on the market. This is through software, third parties, etc. If somebody wanted that domain, they can see that it expires soon and they setup their software/third party to take it, literally, the *second* it's up for grabs.
