Bought a $50 cyberpower, stopped working after a year.
Bought a $100 APC, stopped working after 2-3 years.

This is very annoying as this apartment complex constantly has quick 2-3 outages, and as of the past few weeks, my ups has not been kicking in. Tonight I just lost all the raw photoshop files for a website design I was working on.

I don't care what I have to spend, I need a UPS that is gauranteed to work. Suggestions? My APC could last 20-30 minutes on battery, I'd like some roughly the same time.

How about investing in a laptop, my wife has a HP with a AMD 64, it rocks.
I get blackouts in my house now and again, but not for very long, the only thing I loose is my wirless network.

http://www.compusa.com/products/products.asp?N=200082&Ns=display%5Fprice%7C1#sort1

[EDIT]
for some reason apollo refuses to hyperlink that[href]

Best one is $4257.00 for 6000 watts

Let's say your computer eats 500 watts, that would give you ~12 hours of battery time!

APC's the only thing available where I live. Mine was 500W. It died a few months ago, but it lasted a good 4-5 years before it began crapping out. It needs a battery change once in a while, probably every 2 or so years.

edit: My APC hasn't actually "died" per se. I suppose it just needs a new battery, but I've been too lazy to have it replaced. I suppose their newer models are more reliable now.

Ok, my ups is a cyberpower, not apc. Its white like most APCs are whereas most cyberpowers were black. Still, a rechargeble battery should last a lot longer than 2 years.
