Hey butter fingers you said you were gonna add a laser sight to the machine gun. Do you mean a laser pointer or a scope with a red dot in the middle?

I mean, there's a laser dot sight on the gun, not a scope, theres just a red line/dot from the gun to the target.

It works in theory : an alphalayered red textured super long thin poly coming out of the pointer. I've tested it and it didn't look great, but im gonna try and rotate it continuously so the texture changes and it gets that "refracted light" look.

@Chris B

I check out your weapon thread, and watched the glock video. sure the texture is nicer. but you didn't have animated blowback. You really put me off bothering with this, when you posted. But I feel better now.

Keep up the good work Butterfingers! I realize this is a work in progress but if you don't mind I'd like to contribute some constructive criticism:

Glock - add some bend in the wrists when the gun fires so that the gun tip swings upward slightly. Also I would recommend having the arms pivot slightly up from the elbow when the gun is fired (kind of a quick and small jumpy motion)

Katana - wrist rotation, when the katana is swung I would have the wrist swing down as well (like the wrist motion a baseball batter makes when he taps the plate)

Baseball bat - same concept as the katana, I would recommend adding swing to the wrists and lessening the actual movement of the arms

Good Luck!

Well, It's great but one thing. You shoud add an elbow joint (at least) so when you slash (bash) with katana (or baseball bat) or reload with any weapon it will bend so it look more realistic. Just a suggestion.

@zero433.

Yes it will be free. They've taken time, but they aint exactly HIGH quality.

@Burianu

Dude. Things are irritating me. I can do really nice bones animation but my maya exporter wont support bones with .x format. So I'm stuck manipulating meshes, which takes ages.

Completed:
Shotgun
Glock
Auto Rifle (more scifi)

@Smitho

The aerosol+lighter is getting canned until I can think of a way around the Fire problem. mesh-modelled flames suck, and I cant get a decal to look right.

++SO.....++

The pack is progressing slowly. Im making a really bid development change in my game at the mo, I've been busy makin new media.
But you know, I think I'll gradually release them. watch this space!

Ok, I'm really sorry I didn't release them sooner. The textures aren't great, but Im pleased with the animation.

These are not really representative of my skills anymore, so they're free for non-commercial, a credit would be nice but non essential.

If you pretend that my work is yours, in whole or in part, I'll take the strongest action to have you exterminated.

Enjoy

First off, the single pistol (kinda like a glock).

WITH ALL OF THE GUNS, UNZIP THE FOLDER AND COPY IT TO THE GAMECOREGUNSWW2 folder.

and here is the bat. I took the criticism on board and made it more swipe-y, than bashy, I think it looks better, but again, until I find a way to export .x with skeletons from maya, I'm stuck with crappy mesh manipulation.

i realise that my instructio0ns in the top post were missing the back slashes in between

gamecore guns ww2

but I'm sure you knew what I meant.

OK, final post to say...
IMPROVEMENTS

there are no weapon entities for pick ups at the moment, so the glocks and bat, HAVE to be the players start weapon (right click the player start marker and change his start weapon). If anyone would be kind enough to make the pickups, that'd be wicked. I'm working on some better weapons now, and dont really have the time.

The Bat doesn't have the right sounds. I did make the right sounds but just recieved an illegal sound error when I used it!

ANYWAY!

Have fun people, I hope they come in useful.

peace

butters
