When I first heard of Halo I was pretty excited. It was amongst the first games to have great physics and vehicles, and it was advancing and pushing the development of AI, the graphics were cool. But by the time it was released it was no longer original in those aspects, so I have to agree with Saikoro... There really is nothing extremely exciting about Halo 1 or 2.
Sure its fun to play with a bunch of people, but so is just about any other shooter. The single player missions are not really any better than any other game series, and the enemies feel rather generic and dull. I just don't find the game very engaging or immersive. I have friends who LOVE Halo, and play it constantly, and I just sit there wondering why. What do they find so amazing about this game.
...And those little short, fat, wimpy guys (grunts I think they are called? Excuse my lack of knowledge.) have the dumbest voices completely taking away from the seriousness of the game! Ahhh! Seems like something George Lucas would do... wait... Jar-Jar, buzz droids, pit droids, and the list goes on...
I dunno, I guess it just boils down to personal preference.
Edit: Yeah, TimeSplitters 2 is a pretty cool game. Its like the N64's Goldeneye of the Gamecube and PS2. Was it on the Xbox?
