I'm sure someone will get it online once they've d/l'ed it. With so many people downloading it it's taking forever. Almost half an hour and I'm finally at 75 percent.

As a matter of fact I'll take some pics and maybe a short vid and upload them once I've finished downloading it.

I'm downloading as well(70%). I read on IGN that the trailer was only available on Xbox Live Marketplace for now.

Quote: "May 9, 2006 - At its conference today, Microsoft announced the first Halo 3 trailer is now available to view on Xbox Live.

The trailer is 104MB, so it looks to be a pretty significant glimpse.

The trailer is available for free to all Xbox Live subscribers. IGN understands you most likely stopped reading this article at the headline, and you have left to go get your first look at the game."

If you read what they said on the update, the trailer wasnt meant to be anything special, they're keeping as much as possible on the down lo until the final release comes. This was just to give you a taste of the graphics, audio and such.

So they're hyping people up by saying "yeah, its going to be the same thing but on 360 so if you have the $5000 to blow on a great TV it'll be better otherwise get a job".

Oh I know. Maybe they'll introduce a new grenade. Or scooters.

do you not realise that they do the same thign as every other industry? hell, the car industry doesnt revolutionize itself every three years either, they add a few cool new features every few years, like backup sensors, same things go for the majority of other industrries, they will all always come out with a new model fo soemthing and people will always buy it

Yeah Saikoro Ive gotta admit I dont quite see your problem with Halo. Ive noticed theres like a "group" of people in every school/area that dislike Halo, usually just because everyone else likes it and they want to be different (Im not saying thats you) but sometimes they just truly dislike it.

You say you love Battlefield 2, the only differences between it and all of the other Battlefields are graphics quality and new weapons/vehicles mainly. So thats kind of being hypocritical.

Either way, I cant wait for it, havent been disappointed with the last two halos (complete opposite actually, addicted ), so Ill be watchin this one closely.

Thats why I don't fascinate over repetitive industries like that (which is strange, considering I'm into music, but just ask anyone I've really talked to about music, they'll tell you I don't swing that way (benjamin dont say anything mean)). So if you'd like to buy into the trend, then yay, go 360.

EDIT:
I never played Battlefield 2, and I got BF1942 as part of a bundle that came with my computer.

And its not that I don't like Halo, in fact its great for LANning, but I don't see where the hype comes in other than the fact that it was the only non sports game that debuted with the xBox (generalizing, of course).

I think the reason Halo became so popular was because of it's gameplay feel. True its just another FPS, but it didnt feel like your average Doom or Counter Strike when you played, plus it was one of the only major space-FPS influenced games out at the time of release so that probably helped.

The AI in Halo is vastly superior to anything gamers have seen before it--- the squad-based friendlies and enemies, how they protected you and still fought each other. Amazing.

You Halo-haters go play your Killzone or whatever makes you happy.

I prefer EA and Valve shooting games which involve some sense of strategy rather than "camp or run n gun".

Yeah, Timesplitters 2 was great, and so was the original Halo. Halo 2 was a huge disappointment in the campaign mode, which was one of the best parts of Halo 1... I just hope they don't screw up the Halo 3 campaign

When I first heard of Halo I was pretty excited. It was amongst the first games to have great physics and vehicles, and it was advancing and pushing the development of AI, the graphics were cool. But by the time it was released it was no longer original in those aspects, so I have to agree with Saikoro... There really is nothing extremely exciting about Halo 1 or 2.

Sure its fun to play with a bunch of people, but so is just about any other shooter. The single player missions are not really any better than any other game series, and the enemies feel rather generic and dull. I just don't find the game very engaging or immersive. I have friends who LOVE Halo, and play it constantly, and I just sit there wondering why. What do they find so amazing about this game.

...And those little short, fat, wimpy guys (grunts I think they are called? Excuse my lack of knowledge.) have the dumbest voices completely taking away from the seriousness of the game! Ahhh! Seems like something George Lucas would do... wait... Jar-Jar, buzz droids, pit droids, and the list goes on...

I dunno, I guess it just boils down to personal preference.

Edit: Yeah, TimeSplitters 2 is a pretty cool game. Its like the N64's Goldeneye of the Gamecube and PS2. Was it on the Xbox?

Without multiplayer, Halo would be nothing. The campaigns are very boring to me, but I spend hours playing it on LAN and Live. I can't wait for the next one to be released.

The Halo campaign wasn't very fun unless you played it on legendary. THEN it was actually a little bit of a challenge And then, of course, all the people I've played with online suck at it. So, I resort to various geeky thinge like trying to get to the megg using only grenades, or only melee strike, etc. etc.

Oh, and the Ship Crew definately beat out the Grunts for funny lines. "I'm a cowardly fool! *dying scream*" beats out "wake up wake up! enemies! he's everywhere...! *dying scream*" any day. Except, perhaps, the food nipple grunt. But that's an exception.

I loved Halo and Halo 2's single-player campaign--- aside from the flood. I still play through them every once in a while.

Yesterday I promptly cancelled my IGN Insider subscription and signed up for Gamespot Total Access membership.

IGN E3 coverage sucks, to say the least. Firstly, in order to get the Hi-res E3 videos you have to be a FilePlanet subscriber--- WTF?

Secondly, everytime I tried to download Nintendo's press conference (in low-res, *grumble*), it would say Download Complete and it would be like 11MB or something silly like that. The video will always be corrupted (it should be around 300MB).

Thirdly, they are incredibly slow to get the videos up in the first place.

I downloaded all three major conferences from Gamespot hi-speed west coast servers last night and have been happy with the quality. Plus they gave me 2 free magazine subscriptions with the purchase (including Wired, which I was already going to pay to subscribe to in a few days).

Trailer sucked, yeah. Don't really like stuff like that. If you're gonna release a tech demo, make a tech demo just showing models and environment. If you're gonna release a trailer, make trailer showing gameplay.

Still, Halo 3 shall pwn like the first two.
