We all need to be supportive of each other regardless of what we think about each other.
The only way we are going to make these forums a better place is to support each other.
Look at it this way...if we were all the same this world would be a boring place.
If everybody posted every time they got an award we can celebrate their accomplishments together.
Besides,it makes my day brighter to hear something good happened to somebody.
If you won an award, got a cool job,had your game published, etc. I would want you to post it.

I was told to post this in the Geek Culture forum so I did.
I am sure that no one cares about my opinion but I thought I would express it anyways.

I happened to me. That's pretty great, I guess.

I think everyone already does that. Is there some kind of issue?

Yes, very. You see, I am the king of the geeks and these forums are actually named after me. Everyone pays tribute by bowing their heads and saying "for my lord, Matt Rock" every time they earn a kill in any game they play. And when it's a Battlefield kill, they hack the game just so they can send their points to my name and thus add more gold medals to my long list of career earnings... even though they aren't officially tracked... just to make me look better. "stuff" rolls down hill of course, so when I'm angry, those below me are angry, and when they're angry, they all gang up on you, and only you, because they can.

But seriously... as much as I hate to say this, this is the internet, and the internet is filled with meanies. I'm sure I'll catch flak for saying this (as I usually do), but most of the people who flame aren't satisfied with their real-life social status and thus they take it out on people in forums, chat rooms, messenger, what-have-you because it helps them feel a little impowered. It's the "big brother" syndrome, but effecting a global family. The harder someone flames you, the worse off they feel about their own position in life.

Or maybe they're just really, really mean.

Point is, as much as I wish everyone online would just get along, that can't always happen. And much like in the real world, some people on these forums like me, some people hate me, and the others don't really have an opinion (if in fact they even know me)... that doesn't bother me. What's great about these forums though is that when you have a problem, albeit a programming glitch that you can't repair or a personal matter that's causing despair (hehe, that rhymed), someone, usually more than one person, will be there to offer advice, to share their life experiences, and to post random gibberish*. That's pretty much how the internet works

* 1: It's usually me posting said gibberish, sorta like this post here

Yeah these forums have never been anything but helpful to me.

Good post though, it's cool when people help each other out. "Can't we all just get along?" etc...

Here's an achievment for you: I have now left school.

!!! I didn't get a t-shirt! I just got the certificate, the frame for said certificate, and the card No fair!

My acheivement for the day: I dealt with an idiotic customer and RESTRAINED myself from choking him to death with my mind:

Customer: Hi. I have this problem with my cellular phone.
Matt Rock: What seems to be the issue?
Customer: I put my cell phone on the base but it doesn't charge! And it's entirely YOUR fault because you work in a place that's SIMILAR to the place I bought the cell phone AND the house phone, even though it was in a different state!
Matt Rock: Right... uh, sir, you can't charge a cell phone on a home phone charger
Customer: YOU SHOULD BE FIRED!!!!
Matt Rock: [i]Don't... choke... don't... choke... don't... choke...

If Jesus was ressurected into a computer person then I'll have to change my religion But I'm agnostic so instead I'm forced to think he's just a really happy-go-lucky person

Ooh, I have good news! I got promoted to chief copyeditor of my college newspaper. Tonight is my first night of working. I have to stay late though, so I had to cancel a night of disc golfing with my friends. It's okay though, it is finals week, so some of them have finals tomorrow morning anyway. We'll just go this weekend...

And I'll shut up now...

And EVERYONE knows that I, your lord and saviour, single-handedly created the gnomes who worked long, tedious hours in a cave in Afghanistan's lower-west side sweatshop to design, develop, code, and release DarkBASIC. Lee & Co. are just cover-guys for my minions of gnome-like coder-slaves. I mean duh, how did you NOT realize that the icons don't work properly because the slave gnomes were trying to revolt by making an "icon" of their independence, something that's nothing more than a miscolored dream It's so obvious I'm dumbstruck that no one mentioned it!

Here's a touch of good news: My girlfriend finally started watching "Deadwood" and she loves the show... that's a good thing seeing as how we visited the real-life Deadwood back in September/ October and she didn't know any of it's stories.
