is it possible to have multiple keypress actions happen at once

for example I have a control system with 'w' pitching forward (pitch object down)and 'e' rolling right (roll object right.

Currently, only 1 control is able to be active at one time, i.e. if I am pitching forward, I cannot roll right until I take my finger off the 'w' key

Is there a way I can pitch and roll at the same time?
